Re: Converting a 1290 GT into 1290 R?

G'day MikelDuke, I think you're the leader here..... I've never seen or read of anyone converting a GT to R spec's. I've never seen an R with the tank off so cannot comment on frame/tank mounts....... maybe looking at parts diagrams or service manuals on line might help 'see' if it's potentially do-...

Re: New member from Devon, UK

^^^You now have a Dictator, getting rid of him is going to be very difficult. Lets not be too political here as its a MC forum, but we all see the same thing, from like minded people around the world. Not good. He may be a Dick-tator, firing loyal (to the USA) White house staffers if he thinks they...

Re: KTM SDGT Lean Angle Lights to Running Lights

Cheers pk1,

I'm no expert on this, but there are spare connectors under the GT's dash (behind the accessory socket) and more hiding under the rear seat, tucked down under the wiring loom (4 with clear covers). Maybe they are what you are looking for.

Re: KTM SDGT Lean Angle Lights to Running Lights

I think he makes up a batch of looms after receiving enough orders.....hence the wait time. However, I'm not likely to order one anyway as it's works out pretty expensive for me in AUD, but it is clever the way it it works, so you never know....... The manufacturer must have gone on that cruise if h...

Re: GT and the Booster Plug.

Cheers mate...... KTM tech told me, and DaveNZ was told by his local people. I think it lets the ECU adjust the tune through the O2 sensor probes...... but I'm only guessing. It probably doesn't need doing with the Booster Plug if your GT had the O2 sensors already installed - we had removed ours so...

Re: New member from Devon, UK

Just to be clear about the U.S. denouncing climate change. It's really only one person. Yes, I get that he is the boss right now. But we do have term limits. If we could just get a short lived recession to start in late summer, it could be just one term. Errrr we have to accept some blame..... Rupe...

Lord howe Is copped a flogging though, and the system is now heading for the south coast of NSW. At le...

Re: KTM SDGT Lean Angle Lights to Running Lights

It's a clever system, ideal for Euro conditions (often damp, low visibility, soft twilight etc) where every little bit of lighting helps a rider stay alive ...... but I'd also look at some of the more powerful H4 super bright bulbs (LED conversion lamps may not fit the focal length of the H4 specifi...

Re: New member from Devon, UK

Good on you Roger, There's a trick you may not have read about...... the GT can turn the rear tyre if you disable the traction control.... in fact some owners have crashed even with the TC on..... I think they were caught out with a combination of high tyre pressures on a light bike, tall oem gearin...

27 Jan 2020 Temp Probe in safe cool place under rear seat rail.jpg G'day Roger. I think you'll like the Booster Plug....... early days for me, but seems to work well - was hoping to get out today with my new MiVV can, for a ride but it's still raining ..... I tried the O2 dongles a couple of times ...

Re: Gearing Ratio's for SDGT's

Cheers CarolinaSDGT, You are on the right pathway...... I agree, after 27,000kms I am thinking the same, and will likely fit 17/42 or 17/43 when my chain needs replacing..... but the chain hasn't been affected by the -1 front sprocket at all, and isn't wearing...... so it will be another 12 months/2...

Re: Fuel Injection info from Booster Plug - a good read.

Cheers DaveNZ & pk1. I recall it was wise advice from jjscx to leave the side clips until last, as they would either fall off or knock the tank rubbers off if put on the bracket before getting the tank in place. So I have at last installed the slip-on muffler (the replacement adaptor tube arrived la...

Re: MiVV Suono

Right, jobs done now...... still waiting for the de-cat pipe, but I might not go that far as the slip-on has given the GT a beautiful note - not too loud, just nice, but stronger than stock! Carbon Fibre with 55mm main tube vs oem mufflers 60 main and 42 dB restrictor. So it's got more of a V2 note ...

Re: 'Nother New Member

G'day from Aus. Welcome Carolina SDGT. I also have a 17GT - so I immediately thought I should mention for you to check that it has had the ECU software upgraded to the 2019 models faster/better software. The gen 1 GT's (16-18) had slower algorithms and poor rebound damping settings...... so if it ha...

Re: MiVV Suono

Beauty..... the correct adaptor tube arrived on Friday and is a relaxed 60mm ID, so it's gonna fit the cat stub! I'd have 'slipped the slip-on' on there and then, but i got dehydrated on last Wednesday's ride in 38C (100F) heat and succumbed to a urinary tract infection (even though we all drink wat...

At last, the de-cat pipe is in delivery status, and the replacement adaptor tube landed in Sydney yesterday....... prob be delivered Monday as it takes 2 days for stuff to get from Sydney-Brisbane-me .... At least I got a ride in on Wednesday with my Booster Plug installed, before the de-cat/muffler...

Glad to hear you got a good result TCC.

Small faults like that can cause so much loss of confidence or send dealers into a techno fault spiral!

Well done problem solving it and fixing it 8-) .

Re: Fuel Injection info from Booster Plug - a good read.

Cheers pk, i want a case of that version of 'Corona' virus...... yes sirreee, that would be great ;) I'd only be looking at the Accra map if I thought the de-cat mid pipe was causing a flat spot or not performing as well as expected. I read that the B/P copes pretty well with most exhaust mods and y...
