Anyone know what spare connectors under SAS are for ?

G'day all, Just curious...... there's a wad of connectors hiding under that ugly SAS canister under the passenger seat. One would be for the passenger's heated Ergo Seat but there are 4 spade type and another plug type that I guess would be for the Security Alarm kit...... I read elsewhere that the ...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

Had another look at the 'fuse box' and there are different height fuses in the centre positions with shorter ones to the outside positions....... so unless they are loose, the step up in the centre is not an issue. My GT fired up nice (as always)...... now if I can just get my body to work as well a...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

  I was out fiddling with my bike in the garage yesterday...... dreaming again..... ..... but I lifted the seat and had a look at the fuse box (well.... the rubber fusebox... ) and to my surprise, the fuses were not nice and level like I was expecting. I tried to push them in f...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

Just had a thought bubble.. :o .... happens a lot at my age.... Over on the Caponord 1200 & RSV4 forums they are talking about dash blanking out (particularly on a hot start) and one tech guy added an extra wire from his battery to the starter motor....... this is an old trick and was based on...

Re: 2018 sdr are all the issue's sorted !!!

Cheers Spiff...... if buying new, you are sorted..... your biggest issue is not the bike, but who you are buying it from. Gotta do your homework to be happy with whichever brand you buy..... they all have some issues at times. Best wishes looking for that new machine 8-) Ps as an example, one of my ...

Re: PR5s

Dropped in to my local KTM service guys again...... asking if they knew if the 2019 suspension software could be downloaded to the 016-018 GT's (they didn't know yet...... as I suspected)..... but I asked if they were selling plenty of PR5's for SDR/GT's and they said "hell yeah"...... our biggest s...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

Hi Rock & Mick....... exile88 has posted (in the comparo 2019-2018 thread) that his new dealership found damaged fuel pump connectors and other badly re-connected wiring from a rush job 30k service to be the cause of his issues. May be worth carefully inspecting under the tank to make sure all wirin...

Re: 2018 &19 SDGT Comparo Test - Suspension Software

Glad to hear the fault has been identified....... sad to hear that dealers (all brands) are resorting back to the bad old ways of not allowing enough time for their mechanics to work on bikes... ;). (My cousin was a head mechanic at a major dealership and he was always fighting to be free from the c...

G'day Mick...... i believe there is no change to the pannier system as the comment in the review I have just says that they are the only system that needs the key....... no mention of any redesign to the locking arm. The panniers are made by 'Shad' for the GT so it would be a big deal to redesign th...

:( So sorry to hear about your brother Dave....... a huge loss to your family and friends at such an early age.

Reading about the surgery made me think I was very lucky to survive my time on the table......

Sincere condolences to you and your family and friends.

Wow, they sound like great guys and certainly seem to know their stuff :-) Cheers Mick, That seems to be the key issue - Matt said he has two contact points if he is ever stumped on a KTM and also KTM Aus have improved their game from the early days...... better parts holding/pricing and fast warra...

Re: 2018 sdr are all the issue's sorted !!!

Hi Stokie...... I was talking with my local KTM service technician on Saturday (on behalf of Mick Watson and one of the SDGT forum guys) - he owns a KTM too - but it was interesting listening to the details of 'faults' that he has resolved both at work in the KTM dealership workshop, and on line in ...

Cheers Mick, I'm feeling good...... so it looks like I'm at long last starting to return to normal. I already do 2-3 kms walking and lift 10kg loads (eg washing/shopping etc) but i'm still not confident about crawling under cars/bikes and raising a sweat doing hard work....... I'm driving around in ...

Hi Mick and Rock...... I just posted a big report over on the GT forum...... I stopped by at my KTM dealership and had a talk with the KTM service tech about your issues......... have a read..... hopefully it will help find the cause of your problem. The stalling is not related to cold weather..... ...
