Re: 2019 gt fuel pump warning?
Hi all, I had a thoughtie this morning and dropped by to see what's been happening on the forum (it was almost impossible for me to get on earlier in the year that was, so I've been lurking on the KTM forum). This is more likely a common fault in parts of the globe using ethanol fuels. I have had no...

Re: Naked Bike Shootout - 20SDR Rates Highly
errrr, this is a KTM forum so a bit of one eyed banter might be expected.......... Note I didn't claim the 20SDR was better or should have been awarded #1, only that it was rated well in that comparo........ I did say the review was fair and accurate.......... I stick it to Ducati's even thoug...

Re: MiVV Suono
G'day Boneman, Sorry for the slow response - I haven't looked at this forum for ages as it used to lock up my LT for hours, but amazingly it's all good now! I haven't fitted the decat mid pipe, and might not bother as it runs sweet with the stock cat and the MiVV can with the dB killer installed. I ...

Re: Blank instrument screen
G'day Vet57air, I've read a couple of these blank-out events...... but not seen if anyone has yet reported back with a definite cause/solution. One poster advised that it may be the bike not sensing the key but I'd expect the GT would not start if that was the case. The GT can still sense the key ev...

Naked Bike Shootout - 20SDR Rates Highly
I spotted this on the KTM forum...... even though they must have been paid by Aprilia to award #1 rating to the Tuono, they were fair and accurate with their comments and the 20SDR rates highly - we are so spoiled for choice though.......

Re: 2020 1290R.
Cheers TCC, It sure looks like an RC8 style of frame to me (just with a higher steering stem for an upright riding stance)...... and bike mags have used similar terminology to highlight the changes over the old spaghetti style R/GT frame. I think everybody here knows the frames are not taken directl...

G'day vet57air, Yes, 2021 will see a GT based on the 90% brand new 20SDR....... it's been published in many magazines and spy shots have been analyzed - it's coming - just when is not known...... maybe it will be released to the press in October 21, which will be 3yrs from the 19 models release back...

Re: 2020 1290R.
 ...... the 20SDR is 90% totally new compared to the old gen2 2018......... that RC8 frame and link type rear shock suspension and new motor and zorst is worth the extra cost........ all the guys on the KTM forum that have bought one, or test ridden one, rave about them....... they are not just...

Hi mcracr, My case lids close well, though I had considered adding extra latches like my Ducati MS1200S touring mates factory cases. But that's as far as I got....... thought about it but didn't go out and look for a decent latch that might look nice..... I just make sure the lid holds only 1 sneake...

Re: 2020 1290R.
Good choice Dave, I'm waiting for the 2021 SDGT which will be the 20SDR with the big tank and cases all over again...... I've just been reading about the Ducati V4S Streetfighter in AMCN........ Hmmmmm, 205Hp and 200Kg kerb........ Hmmmmmm, but only a pissy little 16Ltr tank means it won't go past a...

Clever idea....... how bout a pic?
The KTM mirrors are ordinary and a bit blurry and not the greatest for keeping an eye out for stealthy highway patrol cars.......

Yeah, like big orange Bengali tigers...... they are not seen, but they are out there....... all dealer stock gets sold quickly here in Aus, so I know they are out there....... 8-) I get to see more 1290Kat's if I stop at a well known coffee shop and wait a while...... they eventually come in for a f...

 ...... That dose of radiation has given me super powers...... Re: '17 Bag Won't Come Off
G'day mcracr. I also have a 17SDGT, but have never had any issue with my side cases...... BTW, they are made by 'SHAD' for KTM. That's why they are very light weight compared to say the cases made for Ducati MS1260 by Givi. Can your dealership guys sort the issue out (is the bike still new/within wa...

:D Cheers jjscsix I'm back home (since tuesday..... it's now 9am Thursday on this side of the rock). 5.5 days in hospital. Bloody amazing..... there is only one small scar (app 3" long) as they do the entire operation in from the front, instead of the old way via the rear with your ankle up near an ...

G'day jjscsix, or should that be "jjscSX"..... ;) I was just reading a review about the 2020 1000SX in my current AMCN bike magazine..... Kawasaki has done a bit of work on them and they are now the same wet weight as the SDGT. A very nice bike! I'm not likely to put many kms/miles on my GT in...

Re: Rear shock spring
G'day Sprint1952, I'm assuming you have a gen 1 SDGT. The spring on mine felt way too soft until I had the 2019GT's suspension software installed - could that be your issue (?). If you haven't had the new software installed, do it, it makes a huge difference! The stock spring copes with a 70-90kg ri...

Cheers all...... And yet it has been done successfully ....... lowering a 19SDGT that is ........ see copy of post from 'accessories' thread last year (below).... The wording is important, suggesting it is not a straightforward operation to do it properly. Loski and Steve Gnome are the only two I've...
