Agree with you there St99, We have closed our borders (or so the politicians say) and grounded our aircraft fleet (except for some internal flights)....... nasty business....... streets are quiet now......... lets hope it blows over quickly rather than dragging on for months or years. ...

Re: Any Other Forums?

G'day St99603..... from Australia! This forum is a bit quiet these days...... it suffered a big problem in January 2019 that limited access, then didn't seem to recover from the loss of members to the other forums. It is also an old 'platform' whereas most of the other forums are a newer easier to n...

Re: What quality conrol?

Cheers Joe, You're likely more correct than me..... must have been why the p/no changed ;) ......although, as I understand it, the viscosity of 10w50 or 15w50 when cold is only 10w or 15w. It thickens up to 50w as the polymers heat up. Anyway, KTM made a change so they must have put their engineers ...

G'day and welcome from the dark side of the planet  . Just for info, this forum has been having some odd problems lately and several regulars have advised they often can't log-on easily......... but we are reading and will always reply when able. Hope you are away from the virus zone....... nas...

Re: What quality conrol?

 That story sounds really bad...... I have a 17 SDGT and it has been brilliant - I'd recommend KTM to anyone based on my experience here in Aus...... mine had proper pre-delivery and has had all it's regular services. I change my own oil inbetween the KTM spec and I can see how the filter cou...

G'day Scrubs..... :) I was just having a troll around while the site was working properly for me and I landed on your post :o . One of the NZ Dave's has been off line for 401 days but has managed to get back on just recently..... and sometimes my connection gets very slow...... Great to read you are...

Re: Quick shifter not working

G'day jjscsix...... Have you had any software updates or other work done on the GT in the last year or so? I have read that when some owners had their software updated to 2019 specs, some lost their QS (prob due to an incomplete install). The QS lists on the menu screen even if it isn't activated in...

Re: Cheap Slip On

You're correct..... I've fitted a 'not cheap' MiVV Suono on my 17GT ($632Au vs $1200+ for an Accra)) and without the dB killer it sounds and looks really nice with the stock cat (not loud) - nicer than the standard muffler, which isn't that restricted or much heavier than the slip-on. Another good i...

Re: 401 Days OMG

Good to hear the GT runs ok with just O2 dongles and the de-cat...... I'm in the process of de-cating mine, but am only at the slip-on stage...... it's been too hot/sweaty/rainy/bush fire/sore etc... for me to be motivated to ride..... now we have no loo paper in the shops so we can't poop (bet you ...

Re: 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE VERY DISAPPOINTED

I agree with you, and I wouldn't have chosen the KTM SA cases because they are so ugly. Best to use soft luggage for any hard core adventure riding. The rest of the bike isn't mentioned, so I assume that means it's fine.......some earlier forum posts were negative but issues like running out of fuel...

Re: KTM Top Case

But...... I think you can pay for it to be re-keyed to the bike, just like the side cases. Pretty sure other members have done this (keyed to the bike key). I'm still in the very dubious about luggage moving around 'camp'...... my rack (not one of these) is the bolted rigid type and there is no need...

Cheers Bob, An SDGT owner on the 'KTM forum' has just had his entire exhaust system done by 'Jet Hot' ...... he is in the US so you probably can google them...... looked great in his pics....... no idea how they handle the header heat as he hasn't been able to get out and ride yet due the weather. Re: Converting a 1290 GT into 1290 R?

Oops, sorry...... SDR not SAR...... is that a sign of Oldtimers or Dementia  The frame diagrams have several differences..... The Gt tank is held down by 4 bolts, but I think the SDR has only the rear held down by bolts.... so it must have some lugs up the front to secure the front of the tank....

Re: Converting a 1290 GT into 1290 R?

G'day MikelDuke, I think you're the leader here..... I've never seen or read of anyone converting a GT to R spec's. I've never seen an R with the tank off so cannot comment on frame/tank mounts....... maybe looking at parts diagrams or service manuals on line might help 'see' if it's potentially do-...

Re: KTM SDGT Lean Angle Lights to Running Lights

Cheers pk1,

I'm no expert on this, but there are spare connectors under the GT's dash (behind the accessory socket) and more hiding under the rear seat, tucked down under the wiring loom (4 with clear covers). Maybe they are what you are looking for.

:)
