Re: New bike damaged cam lobe!

Great news.

Now you can concentrate on putting some miles on the clock ;) .

Enjoy.

PS My BMW friends have had ECU's replaced on their latest model R1200RT's...... so all manufacturer's can have their bad days....... just so long as they sort the issue out asap  .

Re: 2019 SD-GT Overheating Discrepancy

Thanks Dave for your follow up. I’m getting warnings coming up when I try to go to the other KTM forum. Anyone else getting this? Is says it could be a site impersonating the other site in order to steal information. Cheers JJ, Sorry i've been away all week (on the SDGT)..... I'm on the KTM forum m...

Re: KTM provide free suspension upgrade

G'day all, Got back from my 2,700km week long fine food, fine coffee, fun roads tour on friday :D . Absolutely love the 2019 ECU flash...... it not only fixes the suspension rebound damping so that any or all of the settings can be used whenever I want ..... but the other forum guys (on KTM forum) a...

Re: gearbox failure, 1290R SUPERDUKE.

Sorry to hear of your troubles zedter06. I have an 1290SDGT with 15,000kms no issues...... was talking with a guy at my local KTM shop and he had the same 17GT as me but with 43,000kms on the clock..... again no issues. I post on the other forum (KTM forum) and several owners have well over 40k kms ...

Re: Newbee

Welcome GT1290ah, Sorry this forum is so quiet...... it has not recovered from an outage in January, but there's a few regulars still contributing. I just had my 17 GT upgraded to the 19GT's newer suspension software and it's well worth the 30mins and $50Au to get that done at your next service. I'l...

Re: 2019 SD-GT Dealer Failed To Remove Packing Cover From Radiator For Test Ride

G'day Kevin, and anyone reading this forum thread,....... Saw your post over on the more active KTM Forum site....... you have already gone and purchased another SDGT from a different dealer so this post is history. It also serves no purpose - the dealer fked up on one demo bike's prep (probably ove...

Re: New bike damaged cam lobe!

I agree, from your description it sounds like a one off cam lobe surface problem. Just a lucky grab eh  . The dealer is doing the right thing getting the bits in, so stick with them - they have to get the bits from the importer's warehouse so it might take a little time. You could have the sam...

Re: 1290 gt mods so far

😂😂😂 Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. Been riding my 790 heaps lately so decided to take the 1290 out yesterday. Power to corrupt, but man the first tight corner i threw it into, it felt like a tank in comparison to the 790. Gotta say the 790 is amazing fun, and a perfect stable mate for the tank, opps i mean 1290 :...

Re: KTM provide free suspension upgrade

G'day all, I just read a post from AusPete on the other forum (KTM forum) and he has had the 19 model software installed on his 16 SDGT and gives it the thumbs up. He knows his shit, and described how the new comfort rebound becomes more like the old street rebound, and street becomes more like spor...

Re: KTM provide free suspension upgrade

Yeah me-too....... I'm thinking of doing a 3k kms ride with my Ducati mates in a fortnight, so I'll be booking in for new PR5 tyres and thought I'd ask them to do the 15k service early (I'll have 13,500 or 14k kms up) and install the 19's software for the trip (Oxley/Waterfall way/Gwydir/Bruxner Hwy...

Re: An accidental discovery re O2 sensors

OK, my fuel economy has returned to it's usual...... I get 20k/ltr in 5th at 100kph...... so it was most likely fuel, though I did run a half tank mix of injector cleaner on yesterday's 200km ride...... I still have the paper filter in with the Cu washers under the O2 sensors....... I retested the h...

2019 SDGT replacement starter switch block

G'day all, just been reading a recent post about 'no electricity' ...... turns out some 19 models have a switchblock that has been wired by the supplier using very short wiring which might rub and short out causing non starting issues. If anyone has noticed a total blackout - might be worth asking y...
