Re: Hard Suspension

Good to hear the QS can be fine tuned, hit a couple of false neutrals when really nailing the bike in Austria (coming back from Stelvio to Vipiteno..). Not a huge biggy but unpleasant when timing it for oncoming traffic. An inexperienced biker might panic though.

Re: Hard Suspension

Given up and gone back to R1200GS. It actually handles better. Sale not purely down to front forks (comfort related due to injuries) but I do think the way the GT stands up mid corner if you hit bumps mid corner is border line dangerous. Only an issue if you push on but FFS that is whole 'raison d'ê...

Re: Euro trip

Great roads, routes worked out superb. Bike behaved spot on, though only found sweet spot with suspension setting on the last day. Smooth roads = two rider for fast road use. Previously was running sport + luggage. Will load some photos to prove been away lol. Lucky with weather as well, only caught...

Re: Hard Suspension

Btw, the picture is 1st day off the ferry, just in to Eifel park area so just scrubbed in, new set. In fairness can barely tell that they now have another 2300 miles on them.

Re: Hard Suspension

Cont road attack 3s. Excellent wear, bit concerned after they ripped up a bit in Germany (see picture) but it was VERY hot and I was pushing to find limits. Superb quick touring tyres. Will slide at absolute limits, but gentle, no sudden letting go brown trouser moments. Excellent in the wet too. Wa...

Re: Quickshift +

If the standard upshift only is anything to go by I would not bother. Its in slow motion compared to the S1000r!

It works but not well.

Re: KTM 1290 Super Duke GT 2018 ???

Dont buy bikes like these, (or Multistrada/GS/high end bikes) and expect to recover most of the money a year later. It aint going to happen. Just the same with cars. Your getting a new and shiney bike with full warranty and breakdown cover. Price includes 20% vat contribution for the Goverment to pi...

Re: Hard Suspension

Im running 3-4 psi below, 33f 38r. This is cold though and if you watch the tps display, the pressure increases 3-4 with some heat in the tyres. The GT doesnt seem to react well to dropping the pressures any further. This was on Angel GT and now M7rr for a bit fun. Back on with something harder wear...

Re: Puig windscreens for SuperDuke GT in US?

Standard screen is good, with little turbulence. I just wanted something a bit taller to give a bit more high speed protection from the weather on Autobahn/Europe roads when I go away.

Re: Puig windscreens for SuperDuke GT in US?

KTM seem to think we are only interested in styling in this department, they have another screen available; it is the same shape and size but tinted! Just silly.

Re: Hard Suspension

The roads where I live are really bumpy, convinced that 3k+ of thrashing the bike around them has helped. If running on mosty good(ish) roads my guess is more time/miles will be required to loosen up.
Comfort setting a waste of time from day one as the bike just seems to pitch and yaw. Feels weird.

Re: Hard Suspension

Should add that mine is now set to one person plus luggage, this seems to just lift or stiffen the back a tiny bit. Handles superb now.

Re: Hard Suspension

I had similar issues. As stated though, with miles it does soften off a lot.
Sport mode actually works well and allows more movement at the front with a little fork dive (helps turn in).

Its a great bike and now at 3500miles on mine it just gets better and better.

Re: Bar risers

Big improvement on comfort. Also reduced the feeling of front end suspension harshness by taking weight off hands. Great addition for touring!

Re: KTM 1290 Super Duke GT 2018 ???

Gt will have full change on 2018 as i think they can sell the GT anymore, all the dealers i visit sit on a 3-4 Gt stock cant get rid of them. I think there are alot of them in Ktm head quarters and because they cant sell them i think they will have the update on them too. The GT is already euro 4 s...

Re: Any reliable SD-GT's out there?

Just hit 3000miles this weekend, problem free happy miles;)

Unlike my mates new Multistrada....had to cancel meeting up with us, big pool of oil next to his bike that should have been inside the fork leg!
