Re: Aftermarket exhaust pipes for the 1290

Who knows about the travel issue, its actual with the bike it rest it leans right up against the inside of the swingarm where it passes up and through. Not super tight, and there is some pad type thing there, but no matter which way I installed it, adjusted it or moved it, it always rubs a bit\hits ...

Re: Aftermarket exhaust pipes for the 1290

I figured I would go ahead and show off my new Austin Racing exhaust. https://i.imgur.com/kOwWIvq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/JBBKIaz.jpg Here's a sound clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0w7fXnn4ZfU Todd, how is the fitment where it comes up through the Swingarm? Re: Carbon fibre rear hugger fitting!

I've decided to leave it for now seeing as it's best part of £400 !! , and I'm not really a massive fan of smothering my bike in carbon fibre, the only thing I have replaced in carbon fibre is the cheap tin heat shield on the exhaust.also it sounds like a lot of faffing around, had enough of that f...

Re: First Tune & Two Recalls

Fry, from what I was told, it's something to do with the openings in the fuel pump not being big enough causing over pressuring within the fuel pump and then causing it to prematurely wear out. To me, if the fuel isn't getting out, it's not getting to the injectors. I was assured there is no risk o...

Re: Carbon fibre rear hugger fitting!

I just did this install. Wasn’t too bad. Stock hugger has molded clasps for the brake and speed sensor/abs but the carbon one has little brackets epoxied in that you have to put zip straps in and cinch down the cables to hold them up out of way for lower cover. The under cover is the same part from...

Re: First Tune & Two Recalls

Can someone tell me more about the Fuel Pump updates on the 17 SDR's? Im not having any problems, and never take my bike to the dealer ( I do all my own work) but I am curious as to the 3 recalls being mentioned here? Obviously my Dealer hasnt contacted me, nor did they say anything when I went down...

Re: Spotless Bike, other than these bubbles

Well, the Service Manager looked at the bike, took pictures of the 3 affected areas and stated that he will send the pictures off to KTM. I stated that although the areas are rather small, these blemishes weren't there upon delivery off the bike, and only appeared this past week or so. I relayed my ...

Just kick it over on its side, then pick it up and go get it all covered with bugs.

Re: Fat Bars and Heated Grip Install.

My arms are perfectly straight from shoulder to fist, and the reach to the Clutch and Brake levers keep my wrists in line with my shoulders, this is how I have always set up my bars and controls, seems to keep pain away from wrists and shoulders. Maybe a wives tale. [/quote] Not a wives tale. I cou...

Re: Fat Bars and Heated Grip Install.

The bar looks great! What brand brake/clutch levers are those? Are they the short or long levers? They are Austin Racing, Bendable\Foldable levers in the Long variety. In actuality they are just rebranded TWM levers and due to some issues AR had with not telling people they just rebranded the lever...

Re: Fat Bars and Heated Grip Install.

Which bend did you go for? Spiff, I got the Renthal 827 Bend which Renthal lists for a KTM SX 125-450 2015 which is fitting as I feel that the 17 SDR is just a mental street bike with serious Dirt bike DNA, that's how I ride it at least, LOL. I didn't cut the Bars down yet, they roughly measure abo...

Spotless Bike, other than these bubbles

I take pride in how clean and detailed I keep my 2017 SDR. On a weekly basis it goes up on stands for me to clean it, inspect it and detail it, every nut, bolt, bracket and surface gets touched with the appropriate cleaners, detailers and applicators, all done by hand, it takes hours. I usually Wax ...

Fat Bars and Heated Grip Install.

Just got done installing a set of Orange Ano'd Renthal Fat Bars and Heated Grips. Though I know this is a lie, I feel my '17 SDR is getting close to being done Mod wise....But are they ever really done? https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/21761708_10211679694206676_1665426981990547534_n.jp...

Re: What have you broken today?

The fasteners don't appear to be the highest speck stuff. I don't think this bike likes to be taken apart and put back together. One really needs to pay attention when putting a wrench or screwdriver to the bike. I have 3 screws I want to replace. Of all of the work that I have done I am surprised ...

Re: Heated Grips 2017

Here is a picture of the connection for the heated grips on a 2017 SDR. Just pull off the plastic front cover assembly over directionals. Its the wire with White Tag (Heated Grips) on the right side of pic. https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/21753446_10211652027635029_7218090135807124827...
