Re: 1290 R. ECU re-flash.

P3 Tuning in Liverpool can flash/map the 1290, not had mine done but have heard good things about them.

Found this on you tube and asked them a few questions, which they were very responsive to.

Re: Loss of low end torque AR exhaust and removing exhaust valve.

Just to give you all some info regarding the Cats on our bikes, the 14-16 Cats have an offset set of pipes in the Cat, BUT the 17 models Cat is actually a straight through pipe, very similar to the Akra resonance chamber, the only difference being the actual Honeycomb Cat restriction, you knock that...

Re: Rizoma bar ends and Rizoma reverse retro mirrors

I had the same problem with Puig barend mirrors, they come with new bar ends, but are far to light compared to the stock ones with the brass weights. My solution was to make a new set of barends that were not tapered to allow the mirror clamp to fit properly but with a tapered end to allow me to scr...

Looks bloody horrible, and a sure fire way to overheat your rearshock and rectifier

Re: 2017 SDR Mods (Beast 2.0) - What have you done?

I just bent my AR Racing Clutch lever and due to some digging found this very fact out. I will be ordering the foldable lever portion only from TVM rather than spending huge coin on a AR replacement. Dont think you can even buy Austin Racing levers in the UK anymore due to them being found out over...

Re: 2017 SDR Mods (Beast 2.0) - What have you done?

Fitted some TWM levers, lovely quality and loads of adjustments.

Little Tip, if your looking to buy Austin Racing or Lighttech levers, dont, as they are just TWM levers that are rebadged and a big premium stuck on top.

It has the space for one, so you just take the compartment from the original seat and clip it in

Re: RSV4 guy thinking about joining your team

Thanks, I understand the big difference in one being a naked and the other one a race replica but since you owned both how does the SDR engine character compare to the V4 greatness of the RSV4? I know it's a twin and I had twins before and loved it too but for some reason I find that V4 great. The ...

Re: RSV4 guy thinking about joining your team

I had a 2014 RSV4 Factory, great handling bike, very small though, but so easy to ride fast, very little input needed through the bars to get it to go where you wanted, unlike the many Gixers i owned where you had to man handle them through the corners and after a days riding you could feel it in yo...

Re: Fuel Pump Whine?

3rd and 4th gear roll ons on the old model were easy, but i have seen a few people over here in the UK reporting that the new model wont wheelie anywhere near as easy as the old one could. I think its probably to do with all the EURO4 crap the bike has on it, dunno if the American bikes have the sam...

Re: Akra Map with No Akra

Fitting the half system is definitely the right thing to do, the bikes still gonna pop and bang like a bitch until you get the SAS kit installed but at least getting rid of the CAT will allow the bike to breathe properly.

Re: Akra Map with No Akra

It will be running far to rich for the restrictive standard system, with the SAS still installed all that unburnt fuel is gonna be igniting in the exhaust and causing the popping and banging, i would be careful you dont overheat and melt the CAT running the Akra map. Once you get the free flowing AR...

Re: Fuel Pump Whine?

Yep, whines like f**k, can "just" hear it when i ride at low speeds, got about 2500 miles on the 2017 now and its not caused any problems, pulls like a steam train in every gear. As for wheelies, mines the same, wont lift the front as easy as the earlier models, i think thats just a matter of a diff...

Re: Sportsbikes

I rode sportsbikes for years, Lots of Gixers, RSV4 and my last one was a 2016 Ninja which i traded in for a 2017 SDR, best thing i ever bloody did, i am just as quick on the SDR as i ever was on a sportsbike and i can ride it all day in comfort. I would say on some of the roads i ride in the Lake Di...
