Track down your draw with the fuses. Pull one fuse at a time until you find your draw current go down.

Re: Cheap topbox for smt

Givi, Shad or similar plastic top boxes remove with just the same key that locks them. The mounting plates usually come off with 4 screws. How easy/hard it is to get to the screws depends on model/brand. You shouldn't ever "need" to remove the Plate, just the box itself, as the supplied pl...

Re: Is there a difference between USA spec and European specced SMT's?

CHeck out the part #'s on a UK based site, and then from a USA based side. If the handguards are the same part #, they are the same part.
I don't know that anyone has done a 'bolt to nut" comparison between USA/UK/EU SMT's.

Re: Cheap topbox for smt

If you want it to be quickly removable, you'll have to go with Givi or Shad and install their adapter plate.
Not sure if that meets your definition of "cheap"...but cheaper than the SMT Gobi Top box rack/box price!

The rare KTM Powersports Side case carriers CHEAP!

I just found this listing on ebay. I'm not the seller nor am I affiliated in any way. I just thought the deal was too good to not pass along. This bit of kit runs $699 new, if you can find anyone with NOS. +/- $5 it's only $200 US funds including shipping! http://www.ebay.com/itm/131544023376 They s...

Re: SM - T " Torture"

Tried one of these? Skärmavbild 2017-04-20 kl. 15.58.53.png /M I was going to suggest an Airhawk if he hadn't tried one. The trick is to not "fill it full" it with air. You only want a bare minimum of air in it, just enough to keep you from contacting the seat. If you fill it with air, yo...

Re: SM - T " Torture"

It think you just need to give it time for your "posterior" to adjust to the seat. I've done 867 in one day and I had no problems with the seat, but that was after owning it for a few months and getting used to it.

Re: Loss of power

I guess one question I have is whether or not the teabag filter is necessary for a street bike that is fueled only at major fuel stations where getting bad fuel is extremely rare? I know there is always some risk and the teabag filter is there to protect the pump, but it's not like I'm filling up i...

They'd help even on the Pikes Peak edition! The CF wheels have to got be lighter than the forged units the PP's come with.

Re: SMT to GS?

I love SMT, but that does not mean i can not see qualities of other bikes. I agree. I can see the great qualities in other bikes. When I called the BMW GS bland, it was probably the wrong word. It's a DAMN good bike. It's one of the few bikes that's GOOD at everything. But the downside, is that it ...

ADV vs duke vs SM vs SMR vs SM-T Exhaust

Are the exhaust headers the same for all 990's?

But are the mufflers the same between ADV/SM/SMR/SMT ? (I know the SD muffer is unique/different than the SM/SMR/SMT/ADV)

Inquiring minds want to know, as there aren't many headers out there that list "SMT", but plenty for ADV/SM/SMR/Duke

Re: Electrical issue, unsure what though?!

First, check the battery terminals. Make sure both are snug/tight. It sure sounds based off what you're describing is either a battery that is in it's death throws, or a charging system that's not keeping the battery charged. Only way to tell is to leave the battery off the charger for 24 hours. If ...

Re: SMT to GS?

I have owned both. I wouldn't do it. The GS is just...bland. It's GOOD at everything you could ask of it, but it just doesn't stir my soul the way the SMT does. If you're considering one, I'd recommend you RENT one, and take it for an all day romp on your favorite roads on a saturday, then on sunday...

Doesn´t say on their website about E-marked or not. /M I emailed them and they replied. They have no Euro/UK approvals. German authorities are strict about it, just want to ride with out getting pulled by police. Then I guess you'll have to stick with another brand. I figured for the low price of t...
