Re: 2018 TFT Display Odometers/Fuel Consumption/Range

I sure don't want it showing 20% more miles than actual for resale purposes. Did you get anywhere with this? I thought my bike was gaining miles very quickly. Going to check it out today by mesuring against my phone... Update. Check my miles against an odometer app and the bike is bang on. The shee...

Re: 17' 1290 Superduke quick questions

You can just go slip on and not have to do anything to the bike. If you want to remove all the Euro gubbins and open her up, full Akra system is the way to go in my opinion - anything else will void your warranty.

Re: Puig windscreen

Wow, not sure how the older one looks better on your 2017  it covers the headlight and loots totally out of place?

I thought this looked good but no pictures of the whole bike unfortunately..

Re: Loss of low end torque AR exhaust and removing exhaust valve.

Personally I would go either slip-on or Akra full system as I wouldn’t want to invalidate the warranty.

I had the Akra slip-on, it sounded and looked great. Just pulled the trigger on a secondhand full system, now just waiting for the weather to improve.

Re: Loss of low end torque AR exhaust and removing exhaust valve.

I’ve got a 17 with an Akra slip-on with the baffle removed. Main reason for not going full system was inital cost and getting on track. Currently the slip on is pumping out 97DB static and my local track has a 102DB limit. As with most people, since buying the bike I’ve been toying with modification...

Re: Invalid KTM warranty

Clearly KTM have been out to the dealers to enforce this. My local KTM dealer (one of the biggest in the UK) will not carry out any non-PowerPart modifications, I then spoke to another dealer who would do the work, but if I had engine running issues (which they believe to be unlikely) I would get in...

Invalid KTM warranty

Hi All, I'm looking to add the Arrow link pipe (with all the appropriate upgrades/changes), and out of curiosity I emailed KTM to check the warranty situation. I was really disappointed to get the following response. Essentially any non KTM PowerParts will invalidate the warranty. Whilst I appreciat...

Re: 2015 Still In Crate - Should I Buy?

It's crazy how much these bikes are discounted as leftovers, makes it impossible for me to pony up for the 2017 no matter how improved it is! They can't exactly sell the old bike close to what the new 2017 is going for, it would be sitting around for ages. Does seem like the OP got a great deal tho...

Re: KTM 1290 Super Duke GT 2018 ???

I can imagine KTM will phase it out. It's an amazing bike but I think it's too niche to be successfull, it's inbetween the interbetween bikes, if that makes any sense. The biggest hit of bike ownwership is the initial moment you take the keys from the dealer, so the shorter time you own your bike, t...

Re: build quality/fit & finish

It's not put me off much as I've just ordered one in white/orange/gray. Black always shows up the slightest of marks, but the bike I saw was beyond acceptable.

Re: build quality/fit & finish

I viewed a 2017 2.0 in black today. It had under 300 miles but the quality of the paintwork was awful, it had lots of minor marks and the finish of the paint itself almost looked like it had been washed with a scouring pad. Unfortunately it's typical for most bikes to have soft paint these days but ...

2017 slip on options

Hi All, About to get a new 1290R. Can't justify a complete system so I'm going for a slip on - can you still remove the flapper valve and CAT by using a link pipe or do you need a full system? Guy in my local KTM dealer suggested I needed the full system if I want to remove all the emissions compone...

Re: Bike shuts off at low speed when cold and downshift to 1st

The funny/not so funny thing with this is that the guys on the Tuono forum are experiencing the exact same problem. I had a Tuono 1100 which would cut out on occasion when changing down from first to second. I sold the bike last year but I see on the forums that's it's still an issue with the 2017 b...

Re: build quality/fit & finish

Thanks for the info and sharing your experiences. I really don't like the idea of spending £15K on a bike with poor build quality, but to be fair, all manufacturers experience quality issues, and it's how the dealer network supports you that can make or break the experience. I am hoping the 2017 mod...

Re: build quality/fit & finish

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated. I don't nessisarly think it's going to be a better bike than the Tuono, but I do think it's more suited to road riding due to the better ergonomics and longer travel. Hopefully I'll get to ride the 2017 bike early next year so I will report back after ...

build quality/fit & finish

Hi Chaps Thinking of selling my Tuono 1100 for the 2017 1290 when it's available. I love my Aprilia but the idea of all that grunt, and more, in a more comfortable and street-worthy package seems great. Especially if the 2017 bike has sorted electronics and a decent quickshifter. I appreciate that a...
