Re: Back in the fold!!

Thanks BDG, I went for the GT because the S hadn't been released, having subsequently ridden the S I should have waited! Couldn't justify the £5k the dealer wanted to change, that's why I 've gone for the 1190. Missing the power but not the back ache - at 10 1/2 stone dripping you can guess what the...

Re: Back in the fold!!

Totally agree Gimlet - when I had first ride of the1290 super adventure I wasn't a fan of the semi-active nonsense but the engine is a different story. How about a 1290 GT motor in 1190 adventure setup - the perfect combo.....?

Re: Back in the fold!!

Like bull 101 I to have returned to the 'adventure fold'. After a year of trying to get used to the semi-active suspension on a 1290GT I finally gave up with the pogo stick, bucking bronco, back shattering ride and am now back on a pre-registered 1190 Adventure - bliss! I can now go round bends and ...

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

OK Guys, it's time to say goodbye to this part of the forum - I've given up the fight with the GT and gone back to a nearly new 1190 adventure - I can now go round corners and hit bumps at the same time, plus my back loves me again! Going to miss the sheer grunt and power, mind you the adventure lif...

Re: Hard Suspension

I'm still in the hard suspension group now after more than 3000 miles. I don't know about this "break in" theory for the forks I've had dozens of bikes and never had to break in the suspension before. There's not that many moving parts in there just doesn't make sense to me. At any rate I'd have to...

Re: Puig windscreens for SuperDuke GT in US?

I found the puig touring screen useless, I'm 5'7" and it created too much buffeting, rather than just stick it in draw and forget about it I decided to cut it down, looks rather good, I'll have to go and try it to see if there's any difference to the turbulence . Must admit I love mine ! Didn't bre...

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

Thanks for that MrC, I'll check them out.

I haven't got any problems with the Angel GT's fitted but was hoping for a bit more mileage, how did the Metlzer's stand up?

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

Hi All, The love/hate relationship with the GT continues, but I must admit the 'Put it in sport and ride like it's stolen' approach works. 3,000 quite hard miles later and, yes the suspension seems to have softened, or maybe it just works better a higher speeds. I find myself 'squatting' on the bike...

Re: Gas tank pressurised

"I still have the torque limiter screech every now and then when I try to start it and sometimes it won't turn over when I press the starter "

Following on from AllanP , my starter shrieks occasionally - more so when hot - and is booked in to be checked out. Is this a normal/common phenomenon?

Re: Hard Suspension

Hi Flingit, Check out my posts elsewhere on the forum - I went from the 1190 as well and suffered to the point of considering trading it for a 1290 s. Couldn't justify the loss so have stuck with the GT. Like a few others have said, it does noticeably soften up after a few miles, would could be a wo...

Re: Puig windscreens for SuperDuke GT in US?

Fitted Puig screen over 1000 miles ago - vast improvement and looks like standard fit. Recommended, pity KTM didn't design one like it as standard, would have saved £100!

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

I should add the Adventure S rode smoothly and comfortably. I stayed in the seat the whole time, something that doesn't happen on the GT!

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

Good afternoon all! I see a lot of the same old problems still coming up on the ride/handling issues. Should we really be looking at carbon fibre wheels, different tyres etc on a premium priced bike like the GT?? I took an Adventure S out for a long test ride (100 miles plus) on the same roads that ...

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

@OldGot60 thanks for the update and great to no the screen works, I'm going to order one just to use for my trips alway, being such a big screen does it vibrate much ! Hi MrC, I haven't done a lot of miles but at mid height setting I didn't notice any vibes - the screen looks and feels a quality pi...

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

Quick update - have fitted new screen from Puig, not cheap but works well. No significant wind blast or buffet up to 130 mph (private road of course).
Riding permanently in 'Sport' but trying 1290s when demo bike arrives at dealer next month......

[quote="DucBMW"][quote="OldGit60"]Quick update. "Interesting... as this was the only explanation that I was NOT given. Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

Quick update. Albert, apparently your issue was a headstock problem. It would appear that the bike is designed for riders of 85 kg upwards and no cure for my problem is forthcoming. As a matter of interest, you cannot call KTM head office as they won't give out the number! If anyone wants to know ho...
