Re: Thoughts on new tires

I was running the factory recommended pressures, 36 PSI front and 42 PSI rear. The rear was wearing normally. I would have tossed on some Angel GT’s, as I’d read that others said it had transformed the handling and made it feel more nimble. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro Pressures seem right....

Re: My new GT!

@Aussie Dave - get well soon! It's definitely the Dongle - I pulled mine off to test. I find the suspension to be really good - better than my '14 SDR, and certainly more comfortable than the Tuono Factory I had a little while ago. I find it precise enough for me, while being comfortable overall - ...

Nice picture of a great bike... Cheltenham? Ive got one about 100 miles north of me... yours looks a lot more interesting :)
The Cheltenham pup in the back ground is an oldie but a goodie, and they have a lock up car shed where you can put your bikes for an over night stay.

Re: Thoughts on new tires

I had the factory fitted PR4’s on my BMW R1200RT and was shocked that the front was cupping at 4,000 miles, with plenty of tread left. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro Tire pressure??, the PR4s need high psi, i removed my front after less than a 1000Km because i hated it, but after giving it aw...

Re: Thoughts on new tires

I was going to wait for the Michelin Road 5 but I am not going to cheat my wife out of potentially 6 weeks of weekend riding so I am going to try a set of Pilot Road 4 I have PR4s on my Multi, and Roadtec O1s on my GT, i much prefer the Roadtec front, by a large margin, the rears both have pluses a...

That Tamborine MT road looks a goodie Dave, but holly shit some of the roads inland from Brisbane were diabolical. Nimbin was fun, i think. :D

Re: Difficulty finding neutral

I put Motul V300 10/40 in my 1290, neutral no problem, and the quick shifter is slick as. Put the best oil you can afford in once she's run in.

Re: California model

Yip it seems all bikes the world over are getting E4 bikes only. The crap (e4) is easy to remove thanx to Rottweiler performance parts.

Re: California model

I presume your referring to the 1290GT....I don't think there is any difference between the models, the 2017s have a few slightly different up grades through electronics over the 2016, but other than different coloured screens, and different rear indicators (bulb verse LED) the bikes are all relativ...

Re: Heated seats / Fuel 95 RON ? .. or some benefit from BP Ultimate 98 (Australia)

Hi Mark. I run my 1290GT on a mixture of 95 or 98,i don't really notice much difference, i guess there must a 3% gain. BP stations here are the only ones to sell 98, but i always put the 98 in when possible. Your milage sounds similar to what i got before i fitted the 40 tooth rear sprocket. theres ...

Re: Bodis vs Remus midpipe

My bike runs bloody well with the E4 crap removed, SAS block off plates fitted, remus cam-link and exhaust pipe, Rotweiler stage 2 kit and the Rotweiler o2 removal kit. i had no problem running with these guys on sports bikes.

Re: Bodis vs Remus midpipe

Luismna, the advice id give, before you remove any of the E4 crap, as it all works together, SAS, CAT, Carbon canister, and the 02 sensors, get a Remus link pipe and little cam that comes with it. (not a large expense) remove you cat exhaust and the exhaust valve cables, and the cable cam, fit the n...

Re: Let's see the GT's

2200Ks over 4 days of non stop windie roads, and riding with some fast bikes, the GT kept right up with the pace. the roadtec 02s were fantastic. Roadtec 02's? Metzelers? I might be mildly retarded, but I can't find anything on them. Do you have a link by any chance? Sorry Metzeler Roadtec 01s.

Re: Let's see the GT's

Great when you find tires that work for you, have you tried them in the wet yet? My bike is still in the dealers after my West Coast trip getting its suspension updated. These are brilliant tires when riding fast in tight twisty roads when you come in hot into a shaded corner and find it damp, I'm ...
