Re: Cam lobes damaged!

Heard nothing down our way, i converse often with the guys who do my servicing, and they have yet had to alter the valve clearances on the 1290Rs that have passed 30,000Kms. Every now and then there will be an engine that will have a problem. Put good oil in and change half way between services, 15,...

Re: How about dem Oranges.....

Yip Millford, great road in there, perfect for bikes, but lots of camper vans and buses nowadays. Bot pic, waiting at the Homer Tunnel. The best thing about the tunnel is once on the other side you have an open lane ahead, as long as your first at the tunnel entrance.

Me too :)

You guys have nice "mountains" for backdrop......... ours are all eroded down to hills (which we claim as mountains  ).

Cheers
And they stick out from the ocean also.

Re: Where is the horn?

When getting my 1000Km service i mentioned to the mechanic that the horn wouldn't work when the engine was running and hot, they moved it to be in front of the radiator.

These are mine Dave, rear is a KTM stand, and the front is one i ve had for over 10 years or more from my 999 days. both easy to operate, but the bike remains stationery. I have a dedicated motorbike man cave so no problem.

Re: Need meat in the middle for a longer lasting tire!

My Angel GTs were nearly dead after 5500km Also had a nasty cut on the rear tyre so changed to Roadtech01 after so many had good feedback. Was intrigued by the T31s (also had a 30€ cash back) as I loved my T30EVOs Now I am nearly at 13k km with 360° riding including highway dashes at over 160kph, A...

Re: Had to leave bike at the dealer...

^^ Warped rotors should be covered, Ducati replaced lots of these on there Street Fighters. it seems the quality of rotors across lots of bike manufactures is of poor quality, Aprilia's suffer from warped rotors also. Brembo build to a price, KTM put the best M50 callipers on the 1290s then shit dis...

Re: PR5s

I had a radar DaveW, But he got me mid to exiting a corner, i had time to throttle off, but never grabbed any brakes, i wear ear plugs, and have a speaker plugged into the radar, i think I'm going to have to go blue tooth, and have speakers in the ear plugs themselves. Oh i probably need to slow dow...

Sounds like a warped disc, keep pushing for a warrantee claim, I've heard of a few 1290Rs having warped disc's.

Re: PR5s

Hey DaveW i got the 2 sets of PR5s delivered to my door for $1000, 500 each set, they are cheeper than the PR4s, from what I'm hearing they have more carbon and less silicone on the shoulders for better dry side grip, which i think will overcome the PR4s shortcomings. Im going to run them on both my...
