Re: PR5s

Rock, the PR5's are a large step up from the PR4's, They match the 4's in the wet, but are far away better in the dry, their edge grip is great, no vagueness or squirming on the throttle compared to the 4's. I wasn't a big fan of the OEM Angels, they were ok, but the PR5s are a far better all-round ...

Re: PR5s

Is there much benefit to waiting on the Road 5 GT's? I am on Diablo Corsa #'s and they are pretty good...next set will be the Road 5's. And then I will be going to the Angel GT's again because I assume they are still the OEM tire for the GT The PR5s are a good step up from the the Angels. Angels ha...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Its starting to warm up Mick, pretty much 20C everyday, but we are still getting a couple of days of off and on again rain coming through each week, i hear the forcast for Nov-Dec is for dry weather, I'm looking forward to that. It has been a good spring here tho, plenty of riding (mainly the MV) ju...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

I had a V4 Tuono also, enough said, actually I've had 4 new Aprilias and 2 new Moto Guzzis amongst the 20 odd new bikes I've had, at the top of the list for reliability is my trusty 2010 Multistrada, next in line would be my 3 Triumphs matched by my 2 1290 KTMs. worst was a new 2004 Aprilia Factory,...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

I actually brought a US bike from KTM here in NZ, the first run never sold well in the US market. The first batch of 2016 models in NZ sold out in a week, so i had to wait 4 months while they imported unsold models from the US, I've done 28,000Kms with nothing more than the stand spur braking. Have ...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

For fuks sake, just get out and ride it, :) shit happens on all models. I'm on my second 1290, both have had very minor niggles. Its a motorcycle with a shit ton of wizardry crammed into a little space. these 1290 engines take about 1600kms to fully run in, if you want more bang for your buck, drop ...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

I brought that floppy red hat from Brisbane classic bike show put on br the Laverda club last year when i was over. Its a Queensland Ducati Riders Club hat. I don't have tire warmers, those guys spend big on their track day stuff, man you want to see their bike trailer, they would give me 1/4 lap he...

Re: Phillip Island Moto GP

Should be an awesome trip DaveW, I've been to the Moto GP on at least 5 occasions, last few times we hired a fancy camper, stayed the 3 days at the track, then toured to Adelaide via the Great Ocean Road, watch our for those cops, Kiwi's get double the fines, they hate us i tell ya, but if you don't...

Re: Front header turning red @ warmup

Yes, here in the states, we have 10 percent ethanol in our fuel. I try to avoid it. Never heard about the fuel filter going bad that quickly, I'll have to check it. I had the fuel line issue and master cylinder issue fixed under recall.. I started with carbureted bikes! I know what you're saying lo...

Re: super semi active comfidence

GT1290?? they are a very good handling motorcycle, the Semi active suspension is very good, but not brilliant, there is room for improvement on the first (2016) GTs, a little more rear rebound dampning would go along way to improving it, but over all, a great handling motorcycle. (in sport mode :D )

Re: Front header turning red @ warmup

I wouldn't worry too much about the red pipe, sitting there, theres no cooling breeze on the pipes. i have the CAT removed, SAS removed, and the Servo removed, Rottweiler O2 sensor dongles fitted, Rottweiler STG 2 SAS removal kit, and the Healtec dongle, Remus link pipe and muffler, i haven't seen m...

Re: 2019 KTM SDGT Photo's are Out

In stead of paying the big bucks to up grade to the 2019 model, i used the same amount of cost $s difference to buy a 2016 MV Rivale..........its putting a big smile on my dial. it was a 59th birthday present to myself.

Re: Does anyone know how to stop pillion head butt?

Sometimes i just pull the clutch in and change gear, that way its a smoother disengage, if your using your brake to disengage the cruise control, then your passenger will head but you as theres no throttle, just engine braking.

Re: Booster plug

I asked this question on SuperDuke.Net, and got no replies. I think it tricks the airbox temperature sensor in thinking the air temp is cooler, causing the ecu to up the fueling ratio. Ive heard of mixed results on guys posting on other makes of bikes. You could be our tester. :D
