Re: '16 vs '17 GT

I have a 2016, only issue has been the stand spur. The 2017 are much the same, they have a few tweeks in the suspension electronics, a different colour options, not much else that i know of. If the 16 is heavily depreciated compared to the 17, then its a bargin. 26,000kms on mine so far.

Re: Rottweiler Fuel Dongle harness access

I didn't have to remove my tank VJ to disconect the rear O2 sensor cable and plug, from memory just remove the seats, remove the 2 bolts that hold the tank on, lift the tank slightly, the plug was just there. been awhile since i did it. Hey the bike runs nice after you fit the Rottweiler O2 sensor r...

Re: Preload failure

If it goes away after the bike has rested, then more than likely the low battery caused it, I've noticed if i start my bike and it doesn't wind over and fire immediately, a fault flash on, but disappears soon as the bike fires up, got to keep these battery on a trickle charger, theres some big pots ...

Re: Exhaust Servo

Interesting, why wouldn't the exhaust valve be considered a "cheat" device if it's only purpose is to allow the bike to pass a gov't-mandated test? I guess sound is considered less serious than emissions in the Euro 3/4/5 view? It also helps the CAT reach optimum temp to burn of unburnt gas, So noi...

Re: Heat Shield

If you remove the cat some have noticed no dramatic decrease in the heat produced by the KTM SDGT. The majority of the heat seems to be coming from the engine?? If you remove the cat be ready to pay some significant cash outlay to adjust the KTM SDGT. My KTM dealer recommended the following as the ...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Thanks Dave. I'm going into it with a good attitude, but knowing I'll have a few weeks that won't be a lot of fun. I have a bit of a bonus coming to. I'm retiring at the end of the year. I should be riding again by then. Pain relief jjscsix, but don't get hooked on that stuff, just enough to keep y...

Re: Heat Shield

Ok, just tried to mock up something real quick to see if it works. Figured most of the heat was coming from one area right onto the inner thigh. Put some sticky aluminum repair tape and then a black rubber scrap over top to cover and insulate. Will see how this goes. Do you still have the CAT fitte...

Unfortunately they could not put in stents. Too much blockage. I'll be going in late next week for bypass.
Good luck with the OPP, jjscsix, hoping it all goes well. I think you will feel like a new man once those blocked arteries are cleared.

Re: Cam lobes damaged!

Heard nothing down our way, i converse often with the guys who do my servicing, and they have yet had to alter the valve clearances on the 1290Rs that have passed 30,000Kms. Every now and then there will be an engine that will have a problem. Put good oil in and change half way between services, 15,...

Yip Millford, great road in there, perfect for bikes, but lots of camper vans and buses nowadays. Bot pic, waiting at the Homer Tunnel. The best thing about the tunnel is once on the other side you have an open lane ahead, as long as your first at the tunnel entrance.
