Re: 2017 superduke 1290r with ktm tail bag

I was thinking about that. I might get a stock pillion seat off eBay and strip all the foam off it and than fasten the bag to the seat pan. Or get a cargo platform that goes where the seat is and fasten it securely to that. I want the option to carry some stuff if needed but in reality I don't mind ...

Re: Aux lights

I'm been trying to figure out a good set up for my Sdr. It's not easy. I don't want to block then radiator so that leaves only the fork tops between the handle bars and blinkers. That's a small space so most lights won't fit. Or they are too small to actually do anything. Also I want them on with hi...

Re: I'm in the hot seat ( literally )

most of these bikes use some coolant for the first month or so as all the air is worked out of the system. i had to add to my overflow bottle a couple times when new. maybe yours is low. or maybe its just a new engine in hot weather. its cooling off when moving so probably just your environment.

Re: I'm in the hot seat ( literally )

Honestly, I have never felt heat coming off this engine. Sometimes for a few seconds I'll feel heat on my left shin as it blows through the radiator but that's it. What are your oil temps looking like. In summer weather 80's and 90's. I'm. Between 175 and 195. Only extreme heat and traffic gets it t...

Re: 2017 Full Akra Weight Savings?

Can't argue that the Austin looks killer. But when exhaust shopping I read that it's tight, loud and can melt the right side blinker. So, I went akrapovic.

Also weight savings on the 17's should be a little more because that exhaust valve assembly probably weighs close to a pound itself.

Re: Rear Hugger Reoved

I've seen used bikes on the side of the road that are cheaper than the akrapovic rear hugger. Doesn't mean I don't want one though.

Re: Replacement Steering Damper for 1290 R

although i have the pp crown and wp damper, im interested in this. little known issue with the pp crown and wp damper is that the adjustable wp damper is about 3/4 inch longer than the stock one. this requires the steering angle be reduced quite a bit and low speed manuvering really suffers. the new...

Re: Question on PC5, Rott intake and Dongles

With your mods. All you will need is the sas dongle to keep the error code off when removing the sas system. If getting rid of the canister than that dongle will be needed also. If you want to have the bike remember your traction control and driving mode settings than the abs dongle comes into play....

Re: Removing and replacing the rear wheel spindle nut ?

its a 2 man job in my opinion. I have my 73 yr old dad sit on the bike (he loves it), holding both brakes in neutral. I back it off with a 3 foot breaker bar and tighten it with an almost 3 foot 250 max ft/lb torque wrench. getting both locking pins through the castlelated nut can take some luck as ...

Re: Ordered CustomLED tail light

I used one on my Sdr while waiting for a warranty replacement of the stock one. It's a 98% match in shape to stock. The non smoked top looks a little funky to me but that's personal preference. The brightness and adjustable flash is very bright and I like it a lot. I plastidipped mine to cover the c...
