Re: New guy
I would hope that the officer extends sincere greetings and salutations to me knowing full well that if I had so chosen too flee, he/she would not even have been able to figure out the color of my SDR much less any other pertinent information. My cop stood there for 5 minutes looking at it, t...

Seriously though, you can fuck right off with ethanol.
And our octane scales differ, so I'll tell you I run 98 in mine - it's the highest I can buy...

Re: New guy
Welcome,I got a reckless driving ticket within a month or two of buying my SDR. I didn't really think I deserved it then or now. point is it's easy, really easy to get in trouble on this bike. I got my first-ever speeding ticket on the SDR, in the 3rd week I owned it (128 in a 100 zone - 2 more kmh...

Re: Removing stock mirrors?
Pull the left mirror towards the seat to loosen, push the right mirror away.
But they both have locking nuts which you may have to loosen first (I say "may" because they're fucking useless - I know when I hit warp speed because my left comes loose and swings towards me...).

Re: Kev2 2017 1290 mod list
Most euro immobilizer keys are vin encoded these days That's as may be, but I still don't see why the dealers can't be given access to the equipment/software to re-encode them. they are even incorporating the gearbox ECU & a few others into the immobilizer equation to start the car, the mileage is ...

Re: Kev2 2017 1290 mod list
The keys are vin encoded at the factory so cant be swapped with another bike, I did recommend to swap over the read coils first but they are working off instructions from KTM. I get that it's new tech and the factory want to be on top of it all, but that's just shitty management and a bit of disreg...

This is a fair point.andyandtherman wrote:I think it has a good deal to do with where you live. Some dealers feel they can definitely tell people to piss off, while others simply can't.

Re: Kev2 2017 1290 mod list
But regardless of that interruption, back to the topic at hand... It's been back to the dealer 3 times in the first week of owning it, the bike has over 3000kms on it in one week so I think the main battery is well charged, battery replaced in the key, keys rematch to the immobilizer, no faults logg...

Re: Kev2 2017 1290 mod list
Funny how I was flamed about the idea that dealer activation MIGHT be required for certain add-on OEM accessories, and now an owner of a new 2017 has confirmed it to be the case. Where's that little troll now? Oh, I'm right here... And I've read back through the thread, and can't see how your quote...

Furthermore, as I suspected, the below article suggests that if the blocked jet was the cause, an increase in temperature would actually alleviate the problem, not produce it; in short, hydraulic fluids become more viscous (ie less likely to flow...) at lower temperatures... http://machinerylubricat...

Re: Hold on 2017 SDR release?
There is no discounting of price on this bike or accessories from KTM that has been released to dealers at this point. I don’t expect any either. No accessory packages will be include with the bike either. We will not be negotiating pricing on this bike because of the demand we have received here a...

Re: not going into 2nd
All this is very interesting, but doesn't make much sense... If it's a blocked jet, why does it only happen on the 1st - 2nd upshift? And why only at running temp? To me it sounds more like the box itself, given those symptoms. And OP has said he may have caused it himself with some changes he made ...

Re: Aftermarket mirrors
Does anyone make a mirror that swaps out for the oem mirrors? I like the big mirrors for long rides, would be convenient to be able to swap them back quickly. While you might luck out and find one that coincidentally happens to fit, I strongly doubt you'll find one that was specifically designed fo...

Yes I paid cash. There's a law in the UK that entitles me to a full refund within 30 days for a faulty product. Is it a definite "walk in, demand refund, walk out with cash" deal? I only ask because we have similar laws in Aus, (known as the "three R's"), but many companies will try to steer you in...
