Re: Oil temperature

My 2015 usually runs around 172 or so. 20 min warm up? I let mine get to about 110 or slightly more and I am headed out. Also I have a evotech rad guard mounted.

Re: Sheared off oil filter cap screw

It looks to be a M5x16 bolt, maybe get new ones for each change or possibly a stronger bolt once you get it out? I hope you do get it out. ktm drawing.JPG ktm part num.JPG I have had good results using these to get a bolt moving then just take a small pointed pick and rotate them out. You need the v...

Mogas, is this the engine guard your asking about. If so its a very quick and easy install. The bolt removed and reinstalled is not anything I was concerned about.

KTM SDR in movie

Just seen the movie Collide and they had a RC8 a Super Adventure and even a still in the crate Super Duke 1290 R. All were very brief scenes but as a KTM rider you tend to notice  It was the only bikes in the movie that was supposed to take place in Germany. They trashed the RC8 and I was s...

Re: Running it lean

Your engine light is due to the sas needing the dongles added or the evo map loaded that bypasses the sas being gone. Any of their ktm techs should be able to load the evo map I would think? I would not ride it other than to the shop. I had removed my cat but not the sas and rode to the shop. Had ma...

Re: Oil Change

Just curious why you drained the oil while the engine was cold? I always take it for a ride or at least idle long enough for the engine to get to temp. As for the white froth, never seen that but again, I don't oil change on a cold motor.

evotech headlight guard

Evotech makes top quality stuff that fits in some cases better than OEM items. I have quite a few of their items on my SDR. Has anyone installed one of these and if so how was it. I like the look more than its design function but think it would really hurt headlight brightness when riding at dark. W...
