Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

As mention on the first page of this thread if your in Europe or USA you will need to richen up my maps you guys run different fuel blends to what we run here in Australia. Every custom Dyno map that I have tested from the USA & Europe here in Australia are too rich on our fuels & have to lean them...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

So, I just came back from the dyno, took about 3h to get it all sorted out. I had the #20map as a base and from there we started the modifying. Turned out that the #20 was very lean at lows and highs, the mid part was relatively okay. The dyno guru said that the bike really needed the fine tuning a...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Hello friends, greetings from Spain. This is the first time I post but I follow you a long time ago. I have owned a 990 SMR since October 2016. I have made several mods following the book of Kevx: 2nd flies removed. SAS removed and off EPC off O2 off Filter KN and filter KN fitted on top cover, sno...

Re: Service costs

So, I found another KTM dealer in Melbourne who quoted $700-800. I then called Stevo's and put it to them - I was keen to use them as my local but I wouldn't swallow $400 extra for the privilege. After 5 min on hold they confirmed they could do the major for $800. Never hurts to ask ... Sent from my...

Service costs

Thanks Gimlet and Thirdway. I've already found a place that will do it for $800 - now just need to check they know what they are doing when my comes to SMTs!

Service costs

I do so love my 13 SMT, which is a very good thing as I have just been quoted $1200 for a major (15K) service on the bike!
This is the from the local dealer in Melbourne, Peter Stevens.

What do you think, fair price?

Re: TuneECU Android or Windows? And where to get the cable and connector cable?

Hi Scott I'm running tune ecu in an old win xp netbooks with no problems. I did have problems with the usb to obdc (16pin) cable. Having purchased one following a link from the tune ecu homepage I had many frustrating hours trying to get a driver to work - only to eventually discover the cable had t...

Leo Vince vs Wings

I'm really happy with the pipes after a month, and with the ITG filter and remap the bike is so much smoother.
I got the RC8 stack from KTM (Peter Stevens) for $12 - cheapest genuine part ever!

Hi Riggsbie
I heartily recommend new pipes and retune.
If you search these forums you will find all you need to know about pipes, SAS and ecu mapping.
Good luck.

Re: Leo Vince vs Wings

So is it the Leo Vinces you've ordered? If so try them with the baffles in first. You have to pretty much take the cans apart to get them out and most people find they're plenty loud enough as they are, especially with a foam airbox. You'll obviously need a remap with a foam airbox but the Leo cans...

Re: Leo Vince vs Wings

Pipes on, very happy with fit and quality. Getting the factory cans off was fun - bolts well rusted holding flange to cans.
Baffle out is loud, but not too loud. Seems just right to make it hard for traffic to not notice me and the bike pulls harder as well.

Re: Leo Vince vs Wings

I've ordered RC8 stacks ($12 AUD, we are getting gouged :) )

After getting such a sweet deal I now have an email from emlineamoto saying the 8414 are no longer manufactured so they can supply the 8414E, as pictured..

Thoughts?

Re: Leo Vince vs Wings

Thanks Gimlet. Yes, I have ordered the Leos. Plan is Leos, ITG filter, remove SAS. I have my cables to run TuneECU so will then try maps to find the best one, tweak maps as required, and if absolutely needed will go to a dyno tuner. If the baffles are hard to get out of the Leos that will be appreci...

Leo Vince vs Wings

Hi All This question may well be like "which oil is best?" but I'm going to ask for your thoughts anyway! Wings exhaust looks great but the best OZ price I can find is close to $1200 delivered. Leo Vince SBK LV ONE EVO II (8414 - stainless with carbon end cap) I can get to my door for $728. Love the...
