Re: '17 Weights after Weight Reductions PICS

OK, at a computer so I can type out a roper reply. 1st off these numbers are very rudimentary and may not be entirely accurate doing it with the 2 scales, there seems to be some debate on that. The suggested 50 Lbs. difference is the difference between my current dry weight (Everything but Gas) 380...

I was about to ask the same question.
I did a cursory look at your prior posts, and could only come up with around 35-ish pound reduction.?.?.?.?.?

Re: Service Light Reset and 600 Mile Service procedures

I FOUND THAT SHIT! Man, this has been bugging me. Follow the guy in the video resetting the service counter on his 690 Duke, it worked on my '17 1290 SDR. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whK6U9UDHy8 Congratulations, but it seems like the same as mentioned before? EDIT: From kevs original, seems the...

Re: RE: Re: Something more sticky than Metzler M7RR

My rule of thumb is two rears to a single front, as far as wear. Very good to know, thank you! Spiff is dead on. To further confused you, or help you...as long as we are talking spirited riding, and light-ish sporty bikes...the more powerful the bike, less pressure in the rear tire, than the front ...

Nice!
Is it the same dimensions as OEM, or is the hugger a couple inches longer, providing more coverage?

Re: I'm in the hot seat ( literally )

So nobody noticed any engine heat difference after cat removal? To answer your original question, it's the rear cylinder (s) on Longitudinal V engines, that is responsible for the heat, much more so than catalytic converter. Meant to point this out, in post above when referring to 1998 TL1000R, it ...

Re: I'm in the hot seat ( literally )

So nobody noticed any engine heat difference after cat removal? If you are going to find yourself riding in town with ANY high compression motorcycle from the last 20 years, you will have the same dreaded experience. It will be worse with a v-twin or v-4 and EVEN WORSE if it is either with full fai...

Re: 2017 SDR Mods (Beast 2.0) - What have you done?

You have forgotten the best mod-rearsets-the best thing to do on this bike. I think 'the best thing to do on this bike ' is determined by each owner. Light-weight wheels do it for me. 8-) Your bike looks so much better with black wheels! Now you need my black wheels for backup, and I'll gladly acce...

Re: What to expect now, PCV and Stage 4 Intake Installed

. My question is what can I expect? Will the bike run like crap for a little bit until it can create new values for the new parts combo? Or, will the PCV, and loaded Map make the bike run great right out of the box? Should I disconnect the Pos. Batt Cable for a half hour or so to clear the ECU? No ...

Re: 2017 Full Akra Weight Savings?

Well, I removed the directional so I don't have to worry about that. I did melt the front right (Brake side) edge of the stock mud guard\swing-arm cover, also melting the ABS wire, luckily I caught that in time and was able to move that wire. Love hate for sure. On the prototype Jeremy McWilliams u...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Something more sticky than Metzler M7RR

Thank you! That's very useful. Let me repeat the tests with Metzler. No problem, glad you think so, but don't bother until you get a good tire gauge, you said yours sucks, so get a good one, or you will be wasting time. A good tire gauge is usually not cheap. Fry has a very good one, (if its the on...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Something more sticky than Metzler M7RR

I have same problem with gauges actually. I used to use Oxford tire pressure gauge, but it stopped giving me reliable readings. Sent from my MIX using Tapatalk I would strongly urge you to FIRST buy a very accurate tire gauge, that only reads to [b]50psi max or the bar equivalent if that's your pre...

We're you able to determine what application the dongle that was sent, is used?
Is it for Pre - 2017 1290R's or????

You might be able to sell it, if you know what it's supposed to be used on.

Re: Something more sticky than Metzler M7RR

@dukebadboy how much do you weigh, and what psi are you running in your tires? Metzler and Pirelli, are sister companies owned by a Chinese conglomerate. Years ago Pirelli was Italian and Metzler was German. They share compounds now, tread patterns are mostly what sets them apart. You might be runni...

Re: Random Rottweiler Intake\SAS Kit INstall Pics and ?'s

I'm using a digital scale I bought off of Amazon, reads all the way down to a few ounces and to a max of 300Lbs. Once bike is done I will fill the full tank and bring it to a scarp metal scale were I can drive on and see exactly what the bike weighs. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do this prior to ...

Re: Random Rottweiler Intake\SAS Kit INstall Pics and ?'s

Don't alter the OEM parts (plug). That would be the kind of chicken shit a dealer or KTM would/could try to use against you in the future. Just be patient and wait in a response from Chris. Nice pics, even though I have an earlier model year, it is still appreciated the time taken not only to snap t...
