SD 990 belly pan on SD1290

Guys im curious, I've been looking for some belly pan for my SD, but didn't find any that i liked. Since I had 990 before i loved the looks of that one? Did anyone try to fit SD 990 belly pan on a 1290? Not sure if 990 had oil cooler there and if it used it for mounting but i think 1290 would look s...

Re: 18 SDR Handlebar position

Check Owners manual, you have section about position of the handlebars and ergonomy. I set my handlebar clamp on front mounting holes on tripleclamp as recommended for track use ( since i do track day every month) and rotated bars forward to -1 mark. Check yours and see where is the mark and you can...

Re: IRC Quickshifter with autoblipper

IRC Quickshifter with autoblipper

I'm in pursuit of good quickshifter for my Duke for a while now, and was looking at couple of options such as Healtech or Dynojet with PCV but none of them offered both up and down shift. Now this IRC offers exactly that but it says nowhere if it cuts fuel or ignition. As far as I know 1290 engine l...

Re: Oil temperature high!!!

Just an update for someone who might have the same issue like me, apparently it was faulty oil tem sensor, at teh beginnging was reading super high temperature, at one point going over 150 degrees even. After I stopped the bike it started showing values going from 0 to 150 and back constantly. Techs...

Oil temperature high!!!

Guys I need quick help, had an issue today during the ride, my oil temperature went 140 degrees Celsius high, and when I checked coolant level, overflow tank was almost empty. Now this happened one day after I got my bike back from service. I had no warning on the dash, coolant temp was just fine, 4...

Re: Ohlins rear

No bro, I never pushed it to the limits even tho i ride on the track. I mean the bike is not meant to be ridden over bumps after all. As long as you ride it on tarmac roads you will be ok :)

Re: Ohlins rear

Don't waste money. If you are not racing it just set up the sag with some good suspension tech and you will be fine. I'm 110 kgs, had my sag set up by Gary Reynders, google the guy, he worked with Pedrosa, Dovi etc, now he's a crew chief for a world supersport team. He said that rear suspension on S...

Re: Ktm sdr 2017 Brembo brake recall master cylinder

Official recall for KTM should start March 3rd, and not all the models are affected. Who ever has a doubt, can check on KTM website, with VIN number delivery certificate number as well. I checked mine the other day MY2015, not affected by recall but still checking with my dealer at the moment to be ...

Re: SAS Canisterectomy throws engine light

in that case you just need the error to be deleted by KTM diagnostic tool, otherwise you have no problem with the engine and how it runs, it's just the computer throwing an error since it's not reading official map. No Dyno will sort that out since only the dealers are having KTM dg tool/machine for...

Re: SAS Canisterectomy throws engine light

Engine light is going off because of "wrong" air/fuel mixture according to ECU which even with dongle instead of SAS is getting more air into the mix and running too lean and needs flashing/remapping. It's not like BMW which ECU has autotune so it adjusts after this mods itself.

Re: SAS Canisterectomy throws engine light

Did you remap the engine? This might be the reason if you didn't. If you did, sometimes even with the dealers happens that their diagnostic tool gets some glitch and screws up the map. Happened to me that when remapping with Akra Evo map i got all the interface from Superduke GT for the features I d...

Brembo recall includes KTM???

Not sure how reliable is this information my friend extended to me today, but still wanted to share to see if anyone else heard something about it. Apparently Brembo brake recall extends to KTM models from '15 onwards, they still didn't announce it officially but it gives me a reason to worry since ...

Re: De-cat link pipe for SD R 1290

Hi, {SD r 17} In the summer i bought a Bodis decat, I fitted it an easy job, and it sure sounded the nuts and showing no faults, loved it but after the first run out to see what it was like I came back home with faults on the display that i could not get rid off. mmm, phoned up Ktm and took to serv...

Re: RC8R 2012

Idea behind getting it is to replace my SD on the track and occasional canyon carving. I think i will go for it, so hard to resist. And after onwning only KTM's since I started riding, I'm not too confident switching to something else to be honest.

RC8R 2012

Hey guys, I'd need your opinion on small dilemma I have. Recently I got a chance to snatch 2012 RC8R with 6000 KM on the clock, previous owner couldn't get used to it after switching from inline 4. Now, I'd like to hear your opinion on reliability and common faults that I should know about before bu...
