Re: Pluging in SMT

You would need a cable. Just google KTM 990 TuneECU cable. It does also show fault codes and let you clear them

I’ve seen it run on cheap android tablets. Not sure of the resolution on a phone

TuneECU is free and runs on PC. Just buy the lonelec cable from ebay

Re: Pointers for a SMT buyer

Ok... let’s take these one by one... 1) These engines are pretty reliable. People have hit big miles on them. I purchased mine with 20,000 miles on the clock and have no worries. There are a couple of common things with this engine/model but all are cheap failures that can be self rectified. 2) comm...

Losing the engine braking has made my cornering a lot better too. Less frantic corner entry, just smooth

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Just loaded a hybrid of map #20 and akro map onto the bike. I did this in the graph view, using the compare feature. Then I richened everything 2k rpm and above by 2%. Thank you Kevin! The foam filter and map sound awesome. The front wheel wants to come off the ground easier when I crank the thrott...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Hello everyone, I have a 2010 990SMR. Installing an itg/rottweiler filter and removing sas system. Bike had Akro's when I bought it 2 years ago. I don't want to remove the secondary flies. All tune ecu maps I have found have the secondary flies removed. Can you recommend a Tune ECU map for me? Pret...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

What would you guys prefer before getting my smr dyno'd and tuned, changing both stacks to the rc8 ones OR just the for front cylinder. I have the rottweiler intake with secondary flies out. Depends on wether you want more top end or more mid range torque. Rc8 stacks give top end whereas oem ones g...

Re: Rear brake lever is contacting clutch case

I have the same problem on mine [POUTING FACE] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk If you do the temp spacer route in the meantime, make sure the spacer is small enough that it doesn't contact the lever or your brake pedal won't return after pressing. It must sit on the bearing. I'll get around to ord...

Re: Rear brake lever is contacting clutch case

Just to show you all what I was talking about, see below pics of the rubbing. I've still not ordered the parts as I used a metal spacer and longer bolt as a temporary measure. It does appear that I only have 1 of the 2 required bearings though. This would probably explain my problem. Damn previous o...

Re: 2017 1290 sdr with a quad lock mount

Is that iPhone 7 plus? I have the Ram claw mount with x grip and while I like it it's HUGE and looks horrible when phone isn't installed. This is super sleek and out of the way. Wasted 60$ on the RAM thing. Darn. Yep, 7 plus. I've also got mounts in the car (they do a simple 3M sticky circle) and m...

Re: Greetings from Torbay!

Hello all! Just purchased a beautifully kept 2013 (2012 MY) SMT 990 which I am thrilled with! It has just covered 5000 miles and has the Leo Vince slip ons that have been set up very well on a dyno. I have been pottering and getting used to it all weekend and have noticed the following... 1, The OE...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

.... Think I like my engine braking to much to lose the flies out. .... Does the second flies decrease the engine braking? I took the flies out and cant notice any decrease in enginge braking. /M It was one of the things I noticed straight away. I prefer it as I'm now able go in much quicker Sent f...

I didn't know myself. Went on the parts manual, expecting to see a rubber bush or something.

Rear brake lever is contacting clutch case

My rear brake lever is rubbing on the clutch case, to the point where I now have two grooves in the clutch case from the 2 lever screws. I'm thinking I should order the 2 bearings that connect the lever. Has anyone else had the same and diagnosed it as the bearings? The lever is not bent. You can pu...

I'm running 20. Started out with 2% and now dropped to standard 20 map. Was too rich with any extra for me (UK).

We get great support in the U.K. Dealers may not be as abundant as jap bike dealers, but I can use the online parts manual at my fave dealer, add the parts to basket and they're at my door in a day or two. Cheap too. Very reasonably priced parts compared to Ducati Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm getting my smt in with JD Warrington later this month on the dyno for a tune. Am I better getting the secondary flies out?... I've heard people say they should be left in and vice versa.
