Re: Throttle Body Balance

Tune ecu worked for balancing. However, see my 2 years old thread about vibrations: check tightness of all engine bolts, clutch installation bolts inside, rear sprocket damped fixing points-change bolts and pushings if sprocket moves by hand, new fuel filter, and yes, take secondaries away and use o...

Re: Would you change an SMT for a 1090 Adventure

But without torque. Tested mt09 and after smt it is quite breathless low down. Also, in Finnish technic magazine they did endurance test for mt09, and after 30-40 k kms, the motor was opened, and valves etc were shot. Yamaha never sent official reply even, when they sent the full motor to factory. A...

Re: Would you change an SMT for a 1090 Adventure

Take the 1090 r model. Without r the suspension is very far from smt quality level other than in smooth roads. Bike is also much longer and not so nimble

Re: How much louder is a Rottweiler than the stock intake?

First it felt too loud, but I got use to it fast, and would not change the noice level back. Having stock silencers, and it is very nice now. Other benefits are so substantial that you won’t regret.

Re: Clutch /engine problem LC8

Without seeing any pictures etc.. just as an idea of potential warranty case: maybe they did put the chain as too tight in service, and too tight chain bended the drive shaft / bearing damage and started the unlucky event. Chain should really be quite loose at the right setting.

Re: Head bearing

It is probably shot. If there still is loose feeling after nstalling new bearing, the next maintenance is fork and especially fork bushings. Did both after 20 k kms and it is like new now. And rear shock maintenance since nitrogen charge will leak out. :D

Would be interested of getting Alexx's map, since I live in Helsinki and seem to have the same set-up in SMT. I did pm you.

Re: New chain/rear sprocket pitch query.....

-1 up front is already quite a big change, if you drive a lot in highway speeds (yes, it changes more 6th gear, than first gears). I would prefer to increase 1 or 2 tooth at rear, but it seems very difficult to find those sprockets. Anyway with air intake mods and mapping, the need to change ratio i...

Re: Stalling problem!

My bike was tried to steal, and they destroyed the ignition lock. Insurance covered it, and was replaced as other locks in the bike. No stalling after that? Earlier it did it once a day at least. Could it had been the immobiliser in the old lock?

Re: Stalling problem!

I have the same problem. I suspect that the clutch is dragging sometimes, for some reason, and this causes stalling when gear is engaged and clutch is pulled in trafic lights. Some air in clutch or something else? If I idle at neutral, no stalling problem.

Metzeler Roadtec 01 is very good tire, front and back. Feel and grip is exceptional and works also in cold and wet.

Re: Catastrophic front brake failure

My brakes were pulsing ar 20k last summer. Tried all the tricks with rotating buttons etc. Discs were worn a bit more in the center, but free movement in buttons enabled disc move a bit and then the groove in disc forms oval when rotating. This will pulse what ever you do. New EBC discs from ebay, a...

Difficult to believe that spray quality has any effect. Maybe Rottweiler has better sound due to nicer color. More power = Noice.

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Tested the bike in free dyno yesterday, it gave 115 hp from back wheel. I think it is pretty decent with stock pipes. Some where also saying that this specific dyno gave couple of hp's less than others. Going to get full graph later.

Battery was tested in shop, it was ok, but the charging was weak at the idle. In city it is at idle a lot.

That "smoothened map" works much better with stock set-up, without part mods.
