Re: Soft panniers retaining pin

They mount in 3 points: 2 plastic loops built into the top edge of the pannier(s) slide onto two 'fingers' on the mounting bracket over the heat shield. Then, the 3rd (where the spring loaded latch/thingie goes) clicks into a receiver at the bottom of the black support bracket. The pegs don't come i...

Re: GPR FURORE NERO

It's not my concern - I actually just like the way they look. I know i'm in the minority there, but I think the luggage support brackets look better in front of the factory heat shields than the way they float in front of the aftermarket exhausts when they're removed. That's all. So could you have i...

Re: GPR FURORE NERO

Did you have to remove the OEM heat shields for these or did you just do it because you wanted to?

I'm interested in this setup for mine, and as cool as the new cans look, I want to retain the factory heat shields.

Great writeup and install tip, btw. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Is this a center stand for SMT?

Confirmed here as well. That's the one!

I just installed one last weekend on my 2010. Not very hard at all, and really nice to have a proper stand.

Re: SM - T " Torture"

I just did my first proper trip this past week on my SMT (with stock seat) and 2000 miles later, it wasn't that bad at all. I always feel it more on straight motorways more than back roads, so those were the days that I felt more discomfort. But honestly, I am shocked how comfortable it is out of th...

Re: SMT to GS?

I haven't ridden a NEW GS, but assuming the character hasn't changed drastically, I would not be able to do it. I came to my SMT from a v-twin sportbike, and I needed as much of a rowdy snarly eager engine as possible. The SMT JUST fits the bill. The GS is... like the boring A- student that on paper...

Re: Leaking Fuel Tank

The service tech was able to drain/dry the tank overnight and apply some tank sealant to patch the leak. 48hrs later and it wasn't leaking anymore. SO, yay. For now. At least now I can keep my eyes open for a possible ebay tank or something to have on back burner. But if it leaks again and it's at h...

Re: Leaking Fuel Tank

Thanks both of you. I am still waiting to see if it can be repaired there - still at the shop. I don't really think they'll do anything to help out (or fess up, obviously - if they are lying, and admit to it, i'd really have them by the balls so that's not happening.). If they can't/don't patch the ...

Leaking Fuel Tank

Just bought my 2010 SMT last summer. It had 18,000 miles on it, so after riding it a bit I planned on doing it's 20k mile service (valve check/adj and other stuff). It's in the Dealer's shop right now, and they called me saying that as they removed the side panels to remove the gas tank, there is a ...

Re: Soft panniers retaining pin

The part number is 62012025035. Retaining Pin Assembly. They are sold individually. $27.99 USD from Scuderia. I pumped that part number into google and came up with retailers in the UK and Germany. If you're in the SF Bay Area show some love to my local dude. Thanks I got a hold of them, and am goi...

Motoproponent wrote:I have ordered a replacement set of these before. I can't find them on any parts fiche but when my local shop (http://www.scuderiawest.com) opens up on Tuesday I'll see if they can look through my old invoices and find a part number.

I'll post back then.
I would GREATLY appreciate it as well.

Re: 2013 SMT Exhaust Upgrade USA

Wings seems like a popular choice for quality/price/sound/etc. There's a pretty cheap Dominator setup that they sell on ebay - while i'm not expecting Arrow quality, i'm curious and admittedly tempted. Both have the OEM style bolt-up flange, so they'll work with the factory y-pipe as well.

REMUS Y-Pipe

I am new to the forum (just bought my 2010 a few months ago). I"m looking into exhaust options - I just came from a REALLY loud bike, and don't want to go down that route again... I wouldn't mind a BIT more volume, and i'm exploring options. I'm not interested enough to spend a TON of money, it's no...

Glad to hear that you like the sound too, been looking at that brand for the past couple of bikes but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Re: Is there a future for SMT?

It really just seems like the new SuperDuke GT is the 'replacement'.

Which is fine, and all, but to replace a 14k bike with one that clears 20k easy is a bit... rough.

Re: Soft panniers retaining pin

So, I just bought a used SMT this week. The luggage pin setup is a mess, and I need a bit of help. Neither side has the pin. There is a hollowed out bolt and a nut that goes into the factory hanging area (where the pin is supposed to be). From what I can tell, these are the existing hardware that it...
