Re: Headlight Protector - 1290Gt

I've cut my own headlight and turn signal protection out of ventureshield, in fact I've wrapped all the plastics in clear film and after 8k you would no find a mark on my bike.

Re: Hard Suspension

It's Deffo bike related and not all 2016, because I've just been away to Luxembourg / Germany and one particular rd out of the town we were based in was like an off rd track with the worst Tarmac repairs I've ever seen and even with the bike suspension set to sport my 2016 dealt with it outstandingl...

Strange because my first gen 16 bike has lush forks, I'm using 3/4 travel and feels great .

Re: Puig windscreens for SuperDuke GT in US?

I found the puig touring screen useless, I'm 5'7" and it created too much buffeting, rather than just stick it in draw and forget about it I decided to cut it down, looks rather good, I'll have to go and try it to see if there's any difference to the turbulence .

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

I couldn't find anything on the authorised agent's web site for 1290GT, so the wave disc's will just have to wait for a while.. :( ... :D My fronts galfer's were listed for the SDR, when I brought them the bike had only been out a month so there were no listing for the GT . It's seems Brembo discs ...

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

What brand are they? and what do you think of them? are they better quality than the oem Brembo rotors? Cheers mate ;) There Galfer, the ones Ktm sell are also from galfer, buying outside the dealer makes them much cheaper. I've got the rear wavy and did buy that from the dealer, not got round to f...

KTM 1290 Super Duke GT 2018 ???

Talked with dealer when my sdr was in service. His personal opinion was that KTM might not upgrade the GT at all and will phase it off like RC8. Reason being that they just haven't sold enough of them. Lot of stock is still unsold and even with serious discounts from the factory (resulting the huge...

Re: Superduke GT vs Super Adventure S

The adventure S is only putting out 125 bhp @ wheel and compared to the GT feels slow however it's a very linear power delivery and makes the SAS feel nice to ride, screen i found to be shite on the SAS with lots of buffeting and owners are fitting the R screen to eliminate the Buffeting, I tried th...

Just back from South of France.

Fredm, glad you like the 40t, its ideal for 2 up giving you the added pull with the additional weight makes the 40t a no brainier. I really think the chain needs a link n half added not because it's tight but because I found the bike lost some stability with the shorter wheelbase.

Tbh I find the cut time to long, it's reduced if you fit 40t sprox, it's needs to feel more interactive .

Almost but not quite there yet

I've got one of the first batch of 2016 GT bikes, and it's on 7000 miles, only issue I've had is my horn used to stop working when hot, simple fix and no need to visit dealer, just move horn, the bike has been faultless in all weathers from a full week in torrential rain to a week in 34 degrees in S...

New Superduke GT owner experiences.

Thanks for that MrC, I'll check them out. I haven't got any problems with the Angel GT's fitted but was hoping for a bit more mileage, how did the Metlzer's stand up? I've done 2500 miles on the Metz whilst away and I recon there's at least the same again, having carbon wheels does help with tyre w...

Who's done front sprox mod !

, I'll also fit a new longer chain so I can get the wheelbase back. For the roads I have here I don't need a quicker turn-in and would prefer more stability for fast bumpy bends accelerating when the front wheel is only nominally on the road. . This I totally agree and exactly my thoughts whilst ri...

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

I fitted some Metz 7RR for a trip to Spain and I'm not a huge fan ! I had the rear break loose on a sharpe right hander, it could have been some shite on the rd surface ! I also find they feed every imperfection back to the rider, wet weather was really good, N621 potes- rianha in the wet and the bi...

Re: Who's done front sprox mod !

Very strange because I can tell a difference especially when cruising, no more lugging with the 39 and have done 6k with this size sprox, recently I've been swooping back n fourth with the 40 and whilst the 40 does make a huge difference not only to pickup but the quickshifter seems seamless.

I put it up for £12k cant even sell it :) they give 9600 for Part exchange , this year the bike sales are %14 down. The bike i bought for £17800 with extras i can sell it for 12 let alone PX f...

A bit of a review

Great write up fella, my bike was one of the first gen and I do now notice a large gap around the pannier front and was worried about water ingress ! However they have never let water in, but the gap is big is this a warranty issue ? Agree totally on the cruise, infact I'm going to buy the new SDR l...

I tried the KTM handguards on mine, but they restricted the movement. I have my handlebar clamps in the most forward position, though; I guess you haven't. I guess my bar risers prevent these issues [WINKING FACE] I didn't see you specifically mention that you'd put them on. If I'd wanted an old ma...
