Re: Wind screen

I'm 6'4" and have an MRA screen fitted - looks tiny but hugely effective - and after riding a 1290 Adventure bike as a loaner during service reckon its better than the big screen which just causes buffeting at any height.
The MRA screen is brilliant.

Re: Front lens protector out there?

There are some very simple Perspex covers on eBay - clear or smoked and secured by a few small Velcro strips - simple to fit - easy to remove but won't dislodge at speed.

Re: Condensation in headlight housing

Front and rear indicators had condensation - replaced by dealer - no issues since. That said the way things are made these days I've had lights replaced on every car I own because of this - is it just me !!!!

Re: Went to start, all systems dead

Called the dealer and he was at a loss, bring it in he said - not going to get it to him so took matters into my own limited hands and disconnected the battery - problem sorted - trip done without issue - no ...

Yep been there done that - make sure they are clipped / slid in to their right location - and yep bought the paint from Germany also (exy for touch up but worth it) - because the scratches we under the correctly fitted panel easy fix but the paint (orange)is not metallic and is quite lush... Re: setting up for bumpy roads

At 110kg plus rear bag and tank bag. - 140 kg for touring - the dealer has set the suspension for load using factory component settings - no issue travelling the twisty and sometime bumpy roads of the awesome Apple Isle - Tasmania Aust.

Re: Front brake issue

Ah yes .... My front brakes catch the rotor also - only noticeable at very very slow speeds and monoeuvering around the garage - dealer said they have tried to fix the problem in the past and no success - only slight but did indicate the floating disc was the cause - it's not a big deal on my 1290 -...

Re: Excessive Throttle Play

Dealer was able to remove all excess throttle play whilst in for service. His response was as if it's not unusual for that to happen - in fact he picked it up as I was ok with it. All sorted now but didn't ask what he did.

Can't say I have experienced any excess heat - Draggin Kevlar Jeans and boots are typical attire - all seems fine. Wrapping the exhaust is probably the g-o and it looks cool too.

Yeah it's a software upgrade but not too exy. Should have been factory but the dealer can't do it in a matter of minutes. Worth it I reckon.

Re: Superduke 1290 Luggage Options

On the annual tour of The Apple Isle - Tassie Australia - a Givi clip on tank bag / and the large KTM factory rear bag does the trick. Forget their useless fitting instructions and simply fit it using the flexible tabs under the pillon seat - then secured with a quick release clip to the tail tidy) ...

Re: Is vibration above 7K rpm normal?

They can be a little rough at higher revs - watch the road / change up early and let the Torque take you to the horizon - my pervious ride BMW K1300 was mindblowingly quick and solid at high revs - above 6500 - 11000 - twilight zone stuff - the SD is a torque machine - two very different riding styl...

Re: Front fairings dislodge at speed

Mmmmm hear ya - they are a little tricky to re fit - try not to scratch the paint but patience will pay off - after fitting the K&N I had the same issue - needed to be refitted but had scratched the frame weld under the cover with the vibration -a $45aud small tube of Touchup paint from Germany late...
