Re: Pipewerx Titanium Can

Just about to buy a pipewerx titanium. I already have the rear pegs off but can you buy bolts to plug the holes in the frame where pegs went? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Hmmm. I didn't. Took the bike through a lot of mud last weekend too. No ill-effects I don't think.... Sent from my iPad usin...

Re: Superduke 1290 Luggage Options

I have the large KTM OEM tail pack. It's a good size. 18L I think which is the same as the OEM panniers. I can fit a change of clothes, flip-flops, kindle, toothbrush, iPad, tyre repair kit, and wet weather gear in it, so does for a few days away if you're staying in motels and buying food on the wa...

Re: What did you trade?

Triumph Street 675 R Better build and attention to detail engineering than the SDR by a massive margin. But not the spirit, nor the arse-clenching thrill of the SDR which makes up for everything else. I *almost* bought an MV Brutale 1090 but not doing it is looking more and more like a good decision.

Re: Front fairings dislodge at speed

Thanks fellas,

Yes, I had them off. By the look of things I got one back on properly but not the other. Good to learn.

Cheers

Front fairings dislodge at speed

Apologies if this is raised elsewhere, but a search didn't uncover it. At high speed the front fairing dislodges from the air intake. See pix below. This has happened twice now. I didn't worry the first time as I was going quite fast (~180km/h ... not on the street btw) so not in (my) normal mode of...

Re: Pipewerx Titanium Can

Yes the wheels were painted by Apex Custom in England The guy is Stuart Harris. He did an amazing job....I got them painted locally in Ireland originally but that job paled in comparison to the job Stuart did.I can't talk highly enough about the guy!!Amazing work!! The tail tidy is an R&G.Im selling...

Re: Pipewerx Titanium Can

....gotta say that it's easily as well built as any AR pipe I've owned.... That's good to hear. BTW I love your 'original prototype' wheels. Are they a custom paint job? Also, which tail tidy/fender eliminator is that? I have the KTM OEM shorty and it doesn't look as good as that. As for your shizz...

I might actually consider this pipe just for the weight savings and the potential to remove the pillion pegs.

Yup my pillion pegs are long gone and they are weighty too.

I put silicone sealant but you could probably get away without.

I recommend running without the baffle if you'll get away with it in your jurisdiction. Just sounds better.

Re: Pipewerx Titanium Can

It gets hot. Water that enters just evaporates. I ride in the rain often and no problems. The thing I don't really like is the single galvanised screw and cage nut (ktm original equipment) which makes the mechanical fastening. That will corrode quite quick. Replacing all the SDRs fasteners with stai...

electrical ground point on SDR1290

Hey can any one please point me to a suitable ground point for connecting an electrical earth on the bike? See pic below ... I've replaced the stock horn with a Denali sound bomb; installed a relay and fuse and completed the circuit as per Denali circuit diagram and connected the horn circuit ground...

Re: Testing patience

Update from the OP: The bike was in the shop today getting some work done on her. I pointed out the problem with the pin and nut on the clutch lever ... and the workshop agreed it is a manufacturing defect and are putting in a warranty claim to KTM. The workshop guys were not able to remove the OEM ...

Update time, having done a thousand clicks or so with the Ti pipe.

Still grinning.

The last couple of hundred with the baffle out. Lordy it sounds effing awesome without it but need ear plugs in after the first half an hour.

best use for 1290

I commute on it. When the weather's good and I'm alert it's an easy & fun commuter and I arrive at work with a huge grin on my dial. I've been known to miss meetings because I kept riding instead of stopping at the office and to piss off at lunch time to go for a burn. But when you're tired or it's ...

You've got her looking great too. What's / where'd you get the white pillion seat replacement cover? I'd like one.

Nice pipe but the AR still rules in looks and sound Thanks, mate. I'm looking forward to heading down to Taralga to hear your AR beast. I couldn't afford the AR so for one third the price of the AR slip-on, I'm pretty happy with the Pipewerx so far. Hopefully that Another happy customer!!:) feeling...

Looks like you're still running the CAT.It won't be much louder until you remove the CAT....then it'll be mental Yup, I am. Re: Pipewerx Titanium Can

This pipewerx can looks great....loud as hell I bet. I like the taper, kinda reminds me of the Akrapovic prototype raper!!! With the baffle in is has a nice rumble. Slightly louder than stock, but not much. I haven't tried to remove the baffle yet. I imaging you are right, without it it will be loud.
