Re: Back in Black

Hi 'thebomby' Ouch! 570 dollars fine.... f**k... It's the same here in Sweden, I'v heard. A friend almost lost his driving license once, speedeing like 145 km/h at an 110 km/h road. With passenger. That was stupid, I have to say. AHA  All of a sudden I understand why people say that the thrott...

Re: Headlight Isolation switch

Great, Limey!

First I didn't understand what you are taking about. Headlight, that's the stronger light used when dark, I thought.
Then I realized I am wrong
The High Beam light is the one to use when dark, right :)

Thank's for sharing!

Re: Checking oil level

Hi 'Hardyrider' The short answer is No. I've changed the engine oil several times in the engine on my bike. You will learn what level it should be after a while. When you have done the level check and the oil is in specified level, you let the engine stand for like 24 hours. Then you raise the bike ...

Re: Front Sprocket nut righty tighty lefty loosey?

Hi all!

'Elvis'
You don't have to tighten the nut to 100 Nm. I always use the socket and the wrench and tighten it 'enough'. Then the locking washer secure the nut from loosing up. Works perfectly.

Re: Not so smooth gears?

Really? Havn't tried that. So pull the clutch lever and then just a short twist on the throttle to rev a bit and put in the 1:st gear when rev is 'dropping'?

Re: First ktm

Hi 'gab1' ! And very much welcome to the forum :-) I have the same colors on my 2010, with 57000 km. I'll put up a pic of it. Here it is: KTM 990 SMt -10.jpg Only thing that differs is the Alpinestar decal on the rear plastic close to seat ;-) And of course the wind screen. Mine is a PUIG oturing, 1...

Re: Not so smooth gears?

Hi 'Hardyrider' SMt 2010 with 57000 km. It's the same on my bike, a quite big 'clunk' when putting in first after being in Neutral. A bit better with warm engin but not too much difference. 0,3 standard oil jet. Sweden, and it's not to hot weather normally. Except this summer of course! Crazy temper...

Re: Side stand sensor failure

Hi M It's either going to be a reed switch (mechanical), or a Hall Effect sensor (solid state). If it's the latter, it should be very reliable. Regarding your last point, my understanding of the side stand sensor is if the stand goes down when bike is in gear, engine is cut ?. If that is the case, ...

Re: Side stand sensor failure

Hi 'limey' Don't know if the hall effect sensor is the same as a side stand sensor. Do you talk about the magnetic inside the unit? Tragical story about the side stand that came down and killed the HD dude... :/ The stand came down in a right hand curve and when next left hand curve... bad. (But tha...

Re: Side stand sensor failure

Hi 'bambadoo'! Sorry, I have no experience from a bypass dongle at all. Is it a problem that you need to use Neutral when starting the engine? I always do that... No reason to start it with gear in position. /M - Hej hej! Jag har ingen erfarenhet av egentillverkad bypass till sidstödssensorn. Däremo...

I bought Q8 SBK Racing 10W-50. Works perfect in the engine on my SMt 2010.

Search the forum! There is at least one very good thread about how to take that oil jet out.

Hi 'CatDaddysBBQ' and 'Blakey58'! Thank's for your support guys! I appreciate it much, and I like the way you're thinking! Hmmm.... Re: Clutch problem

Great with the Oberon slave cylinder!
Me as well replaced the original slave to an Oberon, 'some miles' ago - and at the same time I changed the mineral oil to Castrol Front Fork oil 5W.
The engine and the original master slave has been running for more than 57000 km.

Yes that's what I say as well.

I think the front brake master cylinder is still in good shape. Couldn't see any damage on it at all. No leaks and so on.

Thanks!

Re: Parts needed - hopefully

Update. 25 days after accident and 23 days after surgery. My body recovery is like... more or less unnoticeable improvements... :( Well, that not true - in fact the plastic from the right leg was cut of Tuesday 5th of June and the stiches cut away as well. Everything looked good. X-ray the same day ...
