Re: Clutch /engine problem LC8

'P-vstrom'
Welcome to the forum!

As I understand it, the swing arm chain protection unit (the chain slider) came loose and the drive chain drag it into the front sprocket area, damaging also the front sprocket cover. Am I right?

You have got the answer what to do from 'Gimlet'.

Good luck!

Re: crazy tire wear on my other bike

I'm quite sure some guys would point at wrong air pressure in the tire. Normally, tires always get worse at the left side, due to the fact that the road isn't 'flat', but does 'tilt' from left to right (that is from the middle of the road (center line) to the right side). That is during right side t...

Re: Pointers for a SMT buyer

You mentioned chain tightness... I'm sure it's supposed to run pretty tight?... Doesn't the handbook say chain should be set to around 0.7cm slack? Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk NO!!! It says that 7 mm should be measured from the under side of the swinging arm to the tightened chain upper pa...

Hi 'Bug' I´m sure you can solve the problem to translate the German language to English, using Google translate. Otherwise, just send them an e-mail and ask kindly what you want to know. Or klick on the button ('Frage zum Produkt') to the left at the page (link below), and put the question there. He...

I can confirm that the mechanical noise also appers even with the original air filter box mounted, but with secondary flies removed ('snorkel' removed and with K&N filter in place). The noise is a bit annoying because it is noticed about 3000 rpm and above. I think I will mount t...

Search on Google for "Abba skylight lift" and watch the pictures. The ABBA skylift can turn the bike into 45° angle!

Re: New chain/rear sprocket pitch query.....

Hi "Nordic09" I agree with you about increase the number of teeth at the rear sprocket, it is better for the life span of the entire drive line. (I also have to say that a Smaller rear sprocket (like 38 teeth) decreases the rattle sound from the chain hitting the swing arm.) I bought EK (Enuma chain...

Re: New chain/rear sprocket pitch query.....

I have SMT 2010 and the chain is 525. Can´t find that number on the Internet... did you type correct number? Still I´m using original 17 teeth sprocket in front. But I also have 3 different rear sprockets, 38, 41 and 44 teeth to change with when I "need" to :-) Many SMT drivers confirm that 16 teeth...

How did you get the front end up to get the rad high enough to bleed?
Well, I lifted the front wheel by hand up on a bike lift. Secured the bike with "ropes" not to let the bike tilt. Then pumped the lift up to the level I needed. Don´t have pictures, unfortunately.
