Re: Electronic Cruise control for SMt?!

Hi 'eagle_awd'

That's a 'crump buster' unit, yes. I have one by myself and it is helpful sometimes.
But it's not a cruise control :-)

2 k painted wheels

Hi!

I have painted the wheels to my 990 SMt 2010. I used 2 k gloss black and then 2 k clear. From spray cans that is!

The rear rim:

Re: Electronic Cruise control for SMt?!

Thank's for your reply and the pictures 'arg'! Also for the 'manual' of how to make it possible to mount all the pieces. First of; I would ONLY use the cruise at highways and not less than 60 mph (aprox 100 km/h). The vacum controller, is it 'the thing' behind the air filter? I have original airbox ...

Re: How much louder is a Rottweiler than the stock intake?

'roblund6' You see, 2 person's have the opposite experience of sounds. To me, the sound from intake after dismounted the second flies (stock airbox but K&N filter), was simply too loud for me (with earplugs and original silencers mounted) so I have mounted the second flies again and will go all the ...

Re: painting the front fender

Yes, I'm sure it would be great following your procedure! But honestly, it's too much of work for me, because I also have to check the stering head tapered roller bearings, put new parts in the front suspension and replace the oil, put new seals in the Brembo calipers and some other stuff too :-) I ...

Re: Electronic Cruise control for SMt?!

I fitted a car universal after market kit to my SMT and it works fairly well. It is a vacum kit, so the biggest issue is going to be where to put the vacum pod, mine doesnt have abs, so I sited it where the abs pump would go. Thank's! My 2010 doesn't have the ABS either. So could you please tell me...

Re: Electronic Cruise control for SMt?!

I added an Rostra Universal Cruise Control (250-1223) to my 2011 KTM Adventure 990. The servo is electronic not vacuum. I had to get creative with where to put it, and had to purchase a waterproof switch and a couple of relays and some connectors. I was getting ready for a trip to South America and...

Re: Electronic Cruise control for SMt?!

I think it only works wit ETC(electronic throttle control) or ride by wire. Kaoko is the one I heard good things about... https://kaoko.com/B2C/p/449315/690+Duke+%2f+R%2c+990+Super+Duke+%2f+R%2c+690+R+%2f+SMC+Supermoto%2c+690+SM+%2f+SMR%2c+990+R+%2f+T Thank's for the suggestion! Electronic Cruise control for SMt?!

Hi! There is a thread about electronic cruise control (ecc) at another section at this forum (http://www.ktmsmt.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=8003) I believe that guys who drive SD's and Adv doesn't look too often at 990 SMT section and vice versa. So I decided to put the question in the 990 SMT section ...

Re: Mastad windscreen?

Have you had a look at Puig? I'm using it and it's quite good.
I'm 187 cm (6,13") and the wind is just touching the upper apart of the visir/helmet.
So I'm not saying it's perfect, but good enogh for me. Looks good too.

Most likely they look at the parts diagram and can't see the distance spacer/ring between the bearings...

Re: painting the front fender

Thanks 'Striff'!

I've learned somehing new today as well :-)

I think I better give the plastics to a professional painter. I'm not able to make it on my own.

Facet fuel pump to 990 SMt 2010?

Hi

Does anyone know if there is a Facet fuel pump that works on 990 SMt 2010?
I read somewhere that Facet fuel pumps is only for engines with carburetor. True?

Re: How to replace bearings in sprocket support/carrier?

Yes, it's really weird...
I have bought 2 sprocket carriers from eBay, from different years, and both of them has the metal spacer in between the bearings. Also the original carrier from 2010 has got it. SO, in this case I would not believe in the mechanic. Sorry...

Hi!
Have a look at my photos in the post from Fri Jul 31, 2015 9:27 pm. The last picture shows the distance ring/spacer in BETWEEN the ball bearings.

Re: painting the front fender

Hi 'Striff'! What is release agent? Something originally on the plastic from factory? But... in that case, one shouldn't be able to remove it using warm soapy water and Scotch brite... right? Do you mean pollutants get stuck in the plastic, and has to be removed? I know that plastic primer is availa...

Re: Fully Electronic Cruise Control not a throttle lock but a TRUE Cruise Control.

Hi all! FIrst, 'Martin D2D' - I'm driving an KTM 990 SMt and would really be glad to install a cruise control, as I'm doing a lot of long touring. Is the c c available to 990 SMt (LC8 engine)? Or could the unit be 'transformed' to suit to a 990 SMt? - Second, 'Danish-Rider' - do you still have the b...

Re: painting the front fender

Hi Again, thank you very much for very good information about compressors, painting, 2k, sanding and clear coat! I see - some nasty marks was covered by the decals. You said you are a 'hobby painter', but I doubt it :-) More like a professional in my opinion! Great patience too. Ok, I got it about t...

Re: Replacement ignition

Hi 'Goose' I may not be able to help you out about the ignition, just wanted to say that my previous bike (V-Strom 1000) was stolen ones and I got it back the same day. The steering lock (and the frame) was broken, ignition smashed, seat bended and some other minor damages. The bike was taken to the...
