Re: Would you change an SMT for a 1090 Adventure

Two steps up would be 1290 ;) :D If going Adventure direction and not DukeGT, I would recommend 1290S. It's more road oriented and they're really, really nicely equipped. Huge LCD for dash.

Re: Exhaust packing

You're right, I think it's there to protect the packing from blowing out too fast. I read that acrapovic has similar set-up, so will keep it on. Tried to clean it out with some air, but no use so I got some medium thickness stainless wool and wrapped it around. This material is bitch to work with, n...

Exhaust packing

After 30k on the cans, they have gotten too loud (if there's such a thing) and it's time to re-pack. These cans have a steel wool that's around the perforated core. Looks like it's spot welded to the tube in few spots and it would be difficult to wound a new layer and pack it all back in. Should I g...

Re: Customled.com taillight

Last winter I replaced all mine turn signals with LED's from http://dynamicmotorrad.com/ Couldn't be more happier, crazy bright. And still looking for decent replacement for tail light, whether it's just the LED bulbs or whole unit. Was thinking of these https://www.kmx24.de/artikel.php?id=62464 , b...

Re: GPR FURORE NERO

You won't really need heat shields anymore. Cans won't get as hot as to burn you, if that is your concern.

Exhaust fumes coming out on the other hand will melt your shit :)

Re: GPR FURORE NERO

Very nice...."stealthy" looking :) I have white ones on mine, very nice finish, so much lighter and cooler running. They will quiet down as packing settles, almost too much, so I'm not running Db killers. Word of warning, if you strap soft bags on the tail rack, they might get burnt (ask me how I kn...

Re: New Boots ?

For longer trips, I use Forma Adventure, short boots. Waterproof and very comfortable when walking. Also breathable even in the hottest of the days.
I do have to adjust a gear leaver for these, as other shoes are not as thick.

Re: Electronic Cruise control for SMt?!

My bike came with Crampbuster too, but I just couldn't get used to it. You might like it.

There pretty cheap to try I guess... https://shop.crampbuster.com/crampbuster-cb4.html

Re: Electronic Cruise control for SMt?!

I think it only works wit ETC(electronic throttle control) or ride by wire.

Re: Instructions/manual for soft panniers?

If you're talking about stock bags, I've never seen a weight limit, just volume spec of 13L each. Owners manual doesn't say nothing either. Velcro pockets are your waterproof bags. Before getting Gobi's, I took these on a few thousand kms trips, loaded with heavy camping/cooking equipment and never ...

Re: Fuel filter

Replaced mine at 30kkm, wasn't causing any problems but it was pretty dirty. I also ordered from GEFR on advrider, great guy. He has them back in stock, I think it was 27 euros plus couple weeks for delivery from Greece. Now at 65kkm's, so will be ordering soon again This is his email, in case you'r...
