Re: Wich fuel is better

Running it with the same fuel used when it was dyno tuned would be best i would think?

Re: Quickshifter on 1290 SDR

What did people find was the best way to route the QS cabling? Around the front sprocket cover looks good but it looks close to where the side stand retracts.

Does anyone have pics of their setup?

Re: Aftermarket Filters & Air boxes

I notice that the Rottweiler kits are no longer providing the snorkel brackets.

Is that the preferred set-up now? Would there be any increase/decrease in performance if I remove the snorkels and bracket from my set-up?

Re: Need recommendation for good naked bike helmet

Arai Defiant. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/arai-defiant/review.htm +1 Had a standard sport bike helmet (Kabuto FF 5V) before I purchased the Defiant and it would keep wanting to lift at speed, resulting in a sore neck. The Defiant is comfortable and stays put at speed. Highly Re...

Re: a Technical Discussion of Throttle Bodies.

Its been about a year since i did a mechanical balance and the bike has been running great with no hanging. But one thing that has bugged me since making this change, is that the warm idle is a bit inconsistent and hunts up and down a bit. Currently running a Rottweiler intake, 80mm stacks, Arrow de...

Nothing should be preventing wheelies with TC turned off, anti-wheelie is disabled.

Re: No power in 1st and 2nd ?

Something definitely not right here, not sure if this is a wind-up? You stated in your first post that you were noticing a contrast between your bike the demo that you rode, but refute that there may be something wrong with your bike? Did that one you test rode give a gutless 600cc feeling? If so wh...

Re: No power in 1st and 2nd ?

Have you done any mods to the bike?

Mine comes up violently in 1st and 2nd and quite easily in 3rd with some speed. That's with Rotty + 80/80 stacks, PCV, standard map dyno tuned, Arrow midpipe, Mivv slip on.

Re: 1290 Link pipe

I don't believe the Akra resonator reduces flow, the high dyno numbers with this system are proof of that. It sure makes it a nice deep note though.

Were the new tyres balanced when fitted? I find you need to be real light on the bars at high speeds, if you hold on tight it makes it worse!

Guy, have you noticed any difference in the afr ratio since balancing? Especially in the idle 0-2% ranges?

Re: RPM's Hangs arounf 2- 3k after exhaust install, why ?

For those who have not been tracking this on the other forum a solution has been found to this issue! Manually balancing the flies. 3 cases so far with the high idle (that could not be resolved with 10 min resets, sensor replacements etc) have all been solved by manually balancing the flies, so i wo...

Re: ignition module 1290 sdr

If there was ignition changes i am pretty sure you would see a difference in dyno numbers or the curves at least. Nothing i have seen to date for the akra map has provided evidence outside of a slight change in the throttle mappings (and even that has yet to be confirmed). If that indeed is the only...

Re: RPM's Hangs arounf 2- 3k after exhaust install, why ?

Looks like a fix for this issue may have been found : throttle butterflies not in sync. (credit to ktmguy on superduke.net for finding this)

Does anyone here know if the dealer can re-sync the flies without having to remove the airbox etc? Is there a tool that can be used to access from the side?

Re: RPM's Hangs arounf 2- 3k after exhaust install, why ?

New oil temp sensor fitted today
Reset Adaptive Parameters
10 min reset

Issue still persists.
Bike is now running worse than before, drives itself at low rpm and is super stuttery on deceleration.

So i guess we can rule that out as the fix to this issue. Wondering what to do next?

How do they compare on your butt dyno? Do you feel the extra cost of the Akra is justified?
