Re: Super duke 1290 vid

Hi, thanks for the comment. The camera on the mirror stalk is a Hero 6 Black and the underseat camera is a Hero 4 session. The audio is recorded separately on a Xoom Handy H1 and then merged later in Adobe Premier Pro https://www.thomann.de/ie/zoom_h1_mb_matte_black.htm?glp=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwkd3VBRDzA...

Re: Video from Eurotrip (Including Drone stuff)

Nice video, well edited. You see so many of these now that watching them to the end can be a strain. Not this one though. Well done. Cheers for the feedback, just looked at 1 I did for the 2015 trip and that was 20+ minutes long so I made a deliberate effort to change up the pace in this one. Lots ...

Re: Clutch Lever Assembly - What's right?

Looks to me (on your original photo) that you've used the PP levers pin and not the oem lever pin.....They are totally different and won't engage the clutch properly (OEM is thinner and longer) Hope you've not gone down the clutch spring replacement for nothing :o I'm using what came on the bike, n...

Re: Clutch Lever Assembly - What's right?

So issue resolved, not 100% if the springs did it I didn't test with that alone The pin on the lever wasn't seating correctly and I had a look at the other 1290s on the shop floor in the local dealers, all of which had some amount of free play where mine had zero from cold. You can imagine that when...

Re: Clutch Lever Assembly - What's right?

Brief update Popped in the 1290 GT "Orange" springs but not yet test driven Slightly longer free length but I'd put that down to them being just out of the box 20 min job max and lost only a dribble of oil - from stone cold Lever pull is noticeably heavier but nowhere near too heavy http://i683.phot...

Did U buy the bike used?
Yes used, have the orange springs on order but reluctant to go for an Oberon slave or other stuff if it's just a free play issue.

Re: Clutch Lever Assembly - What's right?

Its hard to tell on your pick if that pin is in its pocket. My 2015 1290 pin has a narrower pin & its the same OD from where it seats in its pocket to under the rubber boot. Mine looks to be seated deeper. Yours might be reversed. Agree on it being reversed looking at the micro fiche http://i683.ph...

Re: Clutch Lever Assembly - What's right?

I'm gonna bang in the 1290 GT springs just in casey and the bike is a 3 year old 8000 miler, not convinced it would be plates at that rate of going. Thanks of the vote of confidence in my mental ability  Yeah, I dunno where I got 6yo - I thought your profile said 2010 but it must have been ano...

Re: Clutch Lever Assembly - What's right?

Sorry for not being too specific, that pin that isn't seated is not the issue... Well thank christ for that! Honestly, I was thinking you were a bit dense if you couldn't see it... Fluid is clear and bled at master and slave cylinders In that case you might be looking at worn plates or springs, whi...

Re: Clutch Lever Assembly - What's right?

I've got the SE levers so I'm not sure about yours, but I can tell you that that pin isn't seated properly! It shouldn't be a big job to remove the pin and look at both ends of the hole though, to see where the taper is... And as far as minor clutch clip goes? First thing to do, especially on a 6yo...

Clutch Lever Assembly - What's right?

Had some minor clutch slip yesterday when out for a blast, 100% not wheel spin or TC so I read up on all the possible issues. First thing is that there is zero free play in the standard lever but I'm not sure if the pin is placed correctly and the micro fiche is little help. Does the fatter end of t...

Re: 1290 Superduke or 1190 Adventure

Visordown have a good review and correlates to my feelings. The 1190 feels like good old fashioned power delivery and the 1290SDR just doesn't, even with all the electrickery switched off. You ask for 80% throttle and it gives you what it thinks you should get. The 1290GT is not in the running for m...

Re: 1290 Superduke or 1190 Adventure

I was having similar thoughts 2yrs back and I made my mind up by thinking how would I use the bike, what type of riding will I be doing on it. I bought the 1190 Adventure because I like trailing about at 40mph most of the time on single track roads with grass up the middle. I've never looked back. ...

1290 Superduke or 1190 Adventure

OK guys n gals, after getting rid of the SMT 990 last year and having a brief dance with an old flame - an RSV1000R I'm ready to take a jump into the orange camp again. However I am torn between a used version of: 1290 Superduke or 1190 Adventure Now I have test ridden both and the SD1290 left me a ...
