Re: Lights on
nick280, The exact same thing happened to mine today after I washed it. Tried everything but disconnecting the battery to get it to go off. After about 30 minutes it started turning off when I would flip on the high beam switch. Not long after that it turned off on it's own. It's done it a couple t...

Lights on
Hi all, I washed the bike today, no differently to how I usually wash the bike. Once done, I ran the bike to put some heat through the engine parts while using the bike dryer for the rest of the bike. Once all dried, switched the bike off. I noticed the led bars was on with main beam, no dip, igniti...

Re: First Tune & Two Recalls
Fry, from what I was told, it's something to do with the openings in the fuel pump not being big enough causing over pressuring within the fuel pump and then causing it to prematurely wear out. To me, if the fuel isn't getting out, it's not getting to the injectors. I was assured there is no risk of...

Re: First Tune & Two Recalls
Hello, My 2017 1290 has just been for its first service yesterday and it had 3 recalls due. 1. Update fuel map for the Akra that came with it (not sure if it didn't get the Akra map before delivery or there is an updated one??) 2. Full system software update 3. Fuel pump or replacement. Apparently i...

Re: RE: Re: 1290 Superduke or 1190 Adventure
I was having similar thoughts 2yrs back and I made my mind up by thinking how would I use the bike, what type of riding will I be doing on it. I bought the 1190 Adventure because I like trailing about at 40mph most of the time on single track roads with grass up the middle. I've never looked back. ...

Re: Tank bag
Hi Jay, Bringing up an old thread. Do you still have the tank bag above? How is it fairing? I'm currently looking for one for quick access to camera, documents etc.... And preferably to fit an A4 map in the top. Will the one you have fit an A4 map? It does look neat. How is it for fitting and remova...

Re: Airbox issue
I've fit the latest design airbox to my 1190 adventure and after 12000 miles, it's still clean as a whistle inside. I have the power parts filter too. Fair does I don't do dusty off roading and as I normally lead the pack, I don't get dust kicked up at the front of my bike but regardless of this, it...

Re: Washing your bike
I have an air force blaster for drying bike. Works well but I'm sure a bigger model may have been better.
Thanks for all your input really washing. Bikes clean now lol.

Re: Washing your bike
I guess not many people on here wash their bikes lol.
Maybe S100 is as good as you'll get. A bit more elbow grease required from now on.
Cheers Al.

Washing your bike
It's a PITA. I used to use Castrol Greentec special bike cleaner (gold bottle) but can no longer get it at sensible money. Some sellers are being silly with prices but it's about £17 per litre at its best price. Halford used to sell it for about £8. The next best I've found is Sdoc 100 but it strugg...

Re: Need 2 replace my sprockets & chain
I took the rear shock off and aligned the swing arm pivot with the sprocket centres. I can't remember the reading, it was a while ago now. That's how I check all my bikes if it's not to difficult to do to get a base tension measurement. The chain still slapped the guide. I had the newer guide fitted...

Re: Need 2 replace my sprockets & chain
Hi mate,
Sorry for the late reply. Chain still clattered, it was better but still clattered. I think it's something you have to get used to with the 990

Re: Galfer Brake Discs
Just to follow up on this really. I've had my Galfer brake discs fitted for 1000 miles now and they are spot on. I fitted the Galfer sintered pads with them and the braking is noticeably better, not overly powerful but better than they were. I'd recommend them if anybody is thinkng of fitting these ...

Galfer Brake Discs
Hi, Does anybody have any knowledge on Galfer brake discs? I'm thinking of replacing my warped from discs with them. https://calsport.co.uk/ktm-1190-adventure-r-2014/galfer-braking/galfer-wave-discs-lines-pads/DC785W/ They look nice, aren't daft money and talk the talk, but I've never heard of them ...
