Re: SM - T " Torture"

Hated my SMT seat, and then my SMR seat, then I flipped the bar brackets to the rearward position, waaay better!

Re: Selling SMT for SMR

So my SMR came with the KTM hardparts flyswatter windscreen, I added white handgaurds and thought they might be the problem as it weaves at 125kms in heavy wind. While doing some maintenance I took off the Flyswatter screen and decided to go for a ride, it was very windy out, 180kms and no weaving a...

Re: Kev's SMR Modification list.

Quick question, does disconnecting the wires that are softening 1st and 2nd gear alter the revs limiter in those gears also, I almost swear the limiter in 1st and 2nd are at 8500rpm not 9500?

Re: Sell the SMR for 1290SD?

I have gone back and forth on this, was kinda waiting for Kevtx to chime in? So after thinking about it, my SMR is rare as Hens teeth around here, pretty much irreplaceable if I sold it, Superduke are available everywhere! That being said I can pour money into my smr for an exhaust and a better seat...

Sell the SMR for 1290SD?

My wife thinks I have a problem, she's probably right! Been riding and racing for 45 years, I get more race time than street.I had a 990SD and it was a great ride just wicked uncomfortable in my neck, wrists, shoulders, so regrettably I sold, never should have btw! Bought a SMT, seating position suc...

Re: Going racing

Great write up, and keep at it, so much can be learned from racing on a track regularly! The best part is that you will not only become a better rider but you will live longer because the track curbs the urge to do utterly stupid stuff on the street!

Re: 15 minutes idle reset, meaningless if O2 disabled?

thru the 15 min reset there are many things measured during the idle, so first off it needs to done outside and ambient in your riding conditions for best results. even without O2 sensors on, the air temp, air pressure, engine temp, intake pressure, TPS, idle speed, etc.... so also this can be a sea...

Re: Hold on 2017 SDR release?

There is still a new 15 on my dealers floor, he didn't even order new 17 streetbikes because of the poor sales. Tells me to trade or sell my 990 SMR every time I show up, but I really don't ride enough street lately to justify it, ....plus I would want the new headlight and TC also!

Re: Selling SMT for SMR

I did end up selling the SMT to Org that posted in this thread, he flew in last spring and stayed overnight and rode it home 2000km roughly. I love my SMR except for the seat after an hour, the SMT is not an option as I hated it too, not many options here, often I modify my own and that may be what ...

Re: Selling SMT for SMR

Thanks Kevin! It wasn't because I didn't like the SMT, more because it isn't 'raw' enough for me.the SMR suspension is harsh for some but perfect for me, it feels like my track bikes and stays more planted at speed.

Selling SMT for SMR

I already did it so this isn't a question, more of a fact. I bought my SMT over a year ago, sold my Superduke mostly for comfort reasons. I never gelled with the SMT but also didn't get enough riding time either. I have been riding and racing since I was 4, now I am 50. The SMT was still too soft fo...

Re: Braking with engine

I do agree with your 2nd pic Kevin but that's pretty extreme and should have been replaced a long time ago. In your first pic the 'worn arrow' on the left is pointing at the bevel that is originally machined onto a sprocket to let the chain release from the tip and you do have engine braking wear al...
