Re: License plate holder

Just to chime it, the stock mounting points on my "pre owned" 17 SDGT would not line up with the standard US size plate, so the dealer gave to a generic license plate mount to adapt similar to yours. I will make up a new plate out of aluminum stock when I have access to my workshop, I bought the bik...

Any more info on this from the OP? Sounds interesting.

Re: Plugging in

I do the same and size the fuse according to the max current my gear draws. Seems to make sense (to me) since it’s already in place for the trickle charger/maintainer.

Re: KTM paddock stand

I’ve always used paddock stands to free up space in my garage and keep flooded cell batteries level when on a trickle charge. No more flooded cell issues these days but I use Pit Bull front and Rear stands on my rag tag collection of moorsicles including the SDGT.

Re: New member from Devon, UK

My family hails from merry old England, the weather is probably why they left 100 years ago. Visiting over the years I’ve found the weather for a motorcyclist challenging to be sure. Welcome aboard, wishing you good health and many years of riding the GT.

Re: 'Nother New Member

Thanks, trying to get up to speed on the differences between my Ducati, Triumph and the SDGT. Not a daunting task, just new things to learn and not mix Italian, British and Austrian in my head when pushing buttons.

Re: Gearing Ratio's for SDGT's

I agree 100% on the new chain (and sprocket/chain wheel) technology being just amazing. Hard to argue with the miles some of the “iron butt” folks are getting out of the modern bits and pieces. I also agree the smaller front sprockets don’t seem to damage the gearbox on modern bikes like back in the...

Re: Gearing Ratio's for SDGT's

I know this post has been 'round for awhile but just my $0.02 in USD, one tooth off the front is roughly equivalent to three larger on the rear but harder on the gearbox output shaft and chain. I've played around with this on my vintage Norton 750 and finding the "right" final gear ratio is total de...

Re: 'Nother New Member

That’s for the Welcome from down under North Carolina and way down under!!! I bought the bike from a KTM dealer so I did make sure it had the latest updates applied after reading some posts on here and talking to a friend who has a ‘19 model. The dealership installed an Arrow system on the bike for ...

'Nother New Member

Greetings All from North Carolina. Not new to KTM or motorcycles but certainly new to the 17 SDGT I picked up this week. I'm hoping to put some nice sport touring miles on the beastie, an activity that I have missed since selling my BMW R1200S a few years ago. I could never fully make friends with t...
