Also, with titanium bolts, are you not worried about seizing them?

Looks awesome Kev, any thoughts on how it compares to your sorted 990 SMT in terms of power delivery?

Re: Better late than never

Another random update: Installed all the above as well as picking up a DNA S3 airbox (now discontinued so get your new old stock while it lasts). Have both the Evo full system and centre stand fitted without any impact. Bike is running beautifully now, definitely feel that weight reduction over stoc...

Re: Better late than never

Still pretty happy with the bike, even it had no love for the last 4 months given our current predicament. Have been collecting various parts for the next bout of maintenance/makeover: - full titanium akra system (carbon tipped cans) from a 950sm: picked up at a decent price, have the sm mounts and ...

Re: Expensive failure After tune ecu first attempt.

Ooof, just can't get a break.
Were the keys and ecu paired? Can try to set a black key using the orange one?

Alternatives are getting a pre 09 ecu and copying over map values or there is this thread on advrider https://advrider.com/f/threads/990-keih ... m.1137202/

Haven't dug around there for some time but I remember going off the installation video for the Rottweiler airbox which covers the disassembly of the OEM one, doing that in reverse should give you an idea.

Re: Electrical connectors

Those clamping clips were a major paint to get back on and secure without cracking the plastic. Yeah, price of holding on to a relic (although a fine one at that). Have decided to pick up another bike to keep the SMT company. Either a cb1300s or a gsx1400 for the warmer months. Will wait till later ...

Re: Electrical connectors

Glad you got it sorted! Speaking of connectors, had the headlight stop working on me a couple of months ago. Disassembled the front cowl thing and found the h4 connector completely corroded away. As I couldn't find a somewhat sealed variant, ended up using a ton of black silicone to form a seal on t...

Re: Electrical connectors

All the connectors I replaced I had no issue with tbh. Maybe you can take out the terminals from one side out of the housing then use pliers? If you don't have the terminal tools an assorted set is dirt cheap on ebay Alternatively try a liberal amount of CRC if there is a little play between the mal...

Assumed you checked the obvious, eg wiring for obvious signs of corrosion, particularly at grounding points? Maybe check resistance of the the fuses?

Re: plug in

Don't worry about that, it'll work just fine. Recommend getting the Android version of tubeecu. If you don't have an android phone, can just pick up a cheap android tablet.

I predominantly use it for troubleshooting, adjusting throttle / tps as mine is stock and mapping is fine.

Picking up a new connector from Bursons later on today. Couldn't find a sealed typ...

Clutch oddities

Just installed new clutch plates and springs and did a first good ride yesterday and experienced an odd symptom... as the engine heated up encountering Melbourne traffic the travel of the clutch lever got progressively longer. As in, the clutch lever went from immediate clutch engagement to having n...
