Re: Tank Protector

I found that the paint on mine scuffs very easily on the tank - I just got some nice 'carbon fibre' vinyl wrap and made one myself. Works and looks good!

Re: Anybody Still Riding....

Yes - got the dealer to do it when I had it serviced. Joking said to them as I collected the keys "you did get the sprocket the right way round didnt you?". Checked the bike myself and ... sure enough.. sprocket the wrong way round! - even the dealer gets it wrong! Good on ya Stevie..... So the 19 s...

Re: Anybody Still Riding....

Indeed - perfect weather for riding. Took ours out for a weekend 1000 km round trip out into the SA countryside - first trip with the new 40t rear sprocket and post 1000km service. Definitely an improvement with 6th gear at 110km/hr now actually possible (just).

Re: What have you added to your gt today?

Do they do a tinted screen for the 19 yet?........ there might be some aftermarket ones coming if the KTM shape isn't suited for your height....... keep an eye on Puig/V stream etc and I reckon you'll have to fit one of pk1's tank filler cap sticker design's...... that one's so classy...... 8-) Yes...

Re: What have you added to your gt today?

Ah - I saw some new levers added to the 2019 GT in the pics... does this mean they are the same as a 2018 R? I couldnt find any reference and was not keen to buy a set and then find they wouldn't fit.!

Re: Anyone else ever forget they had panniers on and go 150mph +?

Haven't done that speed on mine yet - still running in! But I did take the coloured panels off mine as I wrapped then in clear protector wrap as I keep sliding my boots over them when I get on and end up with black strips all over the coloured part. The '19 GT versions have three screws on the insid...

Re: Constands CENTRAL STAND EVO or Abba SUPERBIKE

I have an ABBA stand with the front lift arm that I've had for a few years and use on multiple bikes. Just had to order a new kit of adapters to fit the pivot mounts and away it goes. The front lift assy works fine on the GT ('19) but I image previous year are the same in relation to this.

Re: KTM Top Case

Ordered one of the KTM top boxes for my '19 GT. It arrived a week after I got the bike so i'll get it on when the 1k service is done next week. The rack and plate is fitted (and yes it does have the lateral movement built in on this one as well). Will let you know how it feels when i get it installed.

Re: Lowering Kit 25mm for SDGT

That picture does make it look low but its not as bad as it looks there (measured its around 130mm). We've been out having a blast through the Adelaide hills this morning two up and no problems. I have a few favorite corners I used to compare handling and clearance and I still cant ground the thing ...

Re: Lowering Kit 25mm for SDGT

I have just had min lowered today by Hoeys - (Local Adelaide bike suspension specialist). its around 28mm lower which is about the max you can get. This is as far as the forks can be dropped in the yokes as they start to taper after this and you couldn't clamp them. It involved a collar on the shock...

Re: 2019 KTM SDGT Photo's are Out

Wow, thanks for the treasure trove of info on the welcome. I’ve already ordered the 40t rear after reading before I got it but waiting for 1k service to fit.

Love the rear sets and polished pipes. I can see me spending more here!!

Re: 2019 KTM SDGT Photo's are Out

It came with the guards, but was missing some part of the mounting hardware. My dealer here gave me some nice machined KTM orange bar ends (to keep) while we wait for the missing parts...

Re: GPS Bracket

This is a much harder proposition on the 2019 GT - Ive been working on this all weekend!. I tried it on a mount attached to the handlebar mount but the GPS is too low and I don't like looking down that far and not watching the road :) In the end, I've devised a solution thats pretty simple in the en...

Re: 2019 KTM SDGT Photo's are Out

Got mine about 2 weeks ago - goes back tomorrow for its 1k service. As a former BMW S1000XR rider (had two of them) this is my first big twin and KTM. Loving it so far. Its weapon grade!
