I knew I was taking a risk with this but perhaps I'll get a nice surprise with the update. I've got my fingers crossed.
What update is this Allan? My suspension is harsh too can't relax your hands on the bars afraid the next manhole cover you hit will knock the bars out of your hands.

Re: Hard Suspension

So the saga continues I took my GT in so they could have a look at it, mostly to get it on record for any future issue. Well they couldn't actually work on it then said they had to call KTM for advice. They come back with "probably the axle isn't properly torqued or the forks are miss aligned". But ...

Re: Hard Suspension

Yea, sounds like you may have a problem, there are electronics in the forks, so its highly possible theres a glitch in the valving operation, a question, dose touring mode in suspension feel like a spongy pudding? its my least favourite setting, its just far too soft, prob ok around town or that po...

Re: Hard Suspension

I regularly get 2/3 movement in the forks, and in sports mode i get a little more. (20mm untouched) Sports mode lets the forks dive further under braking, and touring and street mode up the compression under braking to reduce fork dive. . That seems to be way more travel than I have been able to ac...

Re: MTC Failure What Do You Think?

Not chuffed, its 80 miles to my dealer, any suggestions for a reset? You never know what these things are going to do, at least mine anyway. Mine had MTC failure twice now. The bike went in to "limp mode" but after sitting for a short while and restating the failure message disappeared and ran fine...

Re: Hard Suspension

I'm still in the hard suspension group now after more than 3000 miles. I don't know about this "break in" theory for the forks I've had dozens of bikes and never had to break in the suspension before. There's not that many moving parts in there just doesn't make sense to me. At any rate I'd have to ...

Re: Hard Suspension

Put me in the hard category. I've tried every damping mode and load combination imaginable they all feel pretty much the same. Sport and rider with luggage marginally the better. I thought "comfort" would be like Gold Wing comfort or BMW comfort but it's more like springer hard tail comfort. I call ...

Re: MTC Failure What Do You Think?

I totally agree Allan it doesn't take long to think up at least a dozen worst case scenarios. They will have to come up with a fix this time.

Re: MTC Failure What Do You Think?

Well here we go again I got the familiar MTC Failure warning yesterday. This after only 600 miles since they last cleared the fault and sent me on my way. This event was a bit different than last time. The bike totally went dead like the key got turned or the kill switch pressed, the instrument clus...

Re: MTC Failure What Do You Think?

Sorry no help for your experience.....but don't feel un-confident.....ride it with vigour....might just have been a brain fart.....or a bit of grit on an ABS sensor............let us know how you go.. ;) Like the dealer said go ride it and see what happens which I have now some 200 miles later no w...

Re: KTM For the first time

Welcome sounds like you are in motorcycle heaven with that well set up bike. Just curious what did you do to fix the MTC failure? I had the same problem that kind of went away on its own.

Re: MTC Failure What Do You Think?

if for any reason the valve doesn't open and close freely with restriction it will throw a code. they have been replacing the actuators that pull and push the cables when a code is thrown up, but i also suspect the problem may be a tight valve, or bad cable movement. Kind of what I was thinking the...

MTC Failure What Do You Think?

Like others I got got the dreaded MTC Failure on my last ride. It's a 2016 with 900+ miles. Yup went into limp mode would only rev to about 6000. I toggled through the matrix display and sure enough my Settings screen has been replaced by the Warning screen with MTC failure number one on the list. S...

Re: Ergo seats

I had the "general failure" message when I installed my PP heated seat too. As it turns out I had it plugged into the connector for the rear seat, it was the only obvious connector in sight. After a little sleuthing I found the connector for the rider seat. So with a screwdriver and a hook fashioned...

Re: Kickstand Spur Breaks

As they like to say "they all do that" but in this case that just might be true. I just got my GT on Thursday and have been babying that every time I use it I haven't knocked it off yet but it's only a matter of time. I'm sure it would be a warranty claim I wonder what the fix will be.

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

If you come from a Gold wing, you want more luxury from the GT. If you come from a sport bike you want a sportier GT. I'm a fiddler, mod guy and have put an Motohooigan intake, 16 tooth sprocket, and Remus decat (with exhaust valve delete) so far, cause you can "never have enough". I came from a 12...

Re: 990 SMR TuneECU not connecting

I got that same message the other day when I went to load a map. I fought with it for some time until I noticed I had my kill switch on,doh, flipped the switch and life was good again. Hopefully you find an easy solution too.
