Re: 1290 Power Commander V Custom maps

yeah, I've trusted Kev's inputs since i had my 2010 990SSMT! Just trying to understand....I dont mind buying dyno time for my setup.....I was just under the impression that having auto tune would be beneficial for massive altitude changes (and temps)....

Re: 1290 Power Commander V Custom maps

ok, read the whole thread....and maybe I'm dense but I think the overall recommendations are: 1) get a custom tune built for my bike on the dyno (with a tune link enabled dyne setup) -- my question here is we have weather (that I'll actually ride in) from 30* to 100* and altitudes from 3000-14000' -...

Re: 1290 Power Commander V Custom maps

I personally would build my map then turn the AT off, here is some reading on leaving the AT running under riding conditions. Page up: http://www.ktmsmt.com/viewtopic.php?p=68942#p68942 Hi Kev, link didn't work - can you please check/fix as I'm definatley willing to take a look / follow your advice!

Re: 1290 Power Commander V Custom maps

thought about it and new approach - going too use rotty akra/intake map - will be richer but that gives me safety if pcv/at has an issue and I have to run with AT off....plus built off of akra map so what ever hidden magic they have in there will still be. applicable....make sense to anyone?

Re: 1290 Power Commander V Custom maps

2018 1290 SDR - has full Akra EVO Kit (exhaust, map, k&N, sas block off)....I'm in US/Colorado at 5k' altitude and running 91 octane fuel.... Bike runs good but I think the Akra map is too rich for my altitude and hurting the low end a bit....jsut bought PCV and Auto tune - main purpose is too ensur...

Get my full akra delivered tomorrow, few ?s

Planing on having dealer install / map since they're 60mi's away... Ive searched all the threads on here and just have a basic question - with just the akra provided kit, eg no rotty airbus or anything else will I gain power / torque across the board? is there any low/mid range loss due to freer flo...

Is there a 17/18 specific pass seat cowl released as of yet? or did anyone get one from anyone other than KTM that looks reasonable?

18 SDR Handlebar position

Found out today that I cant rotate the controls (buttons housing) on either side of the bars because they're pegged onto the handlebars (what dealer said)....mine are way to rotated forward / high....eg horn button is where I think turn signal button should be... Obviously I can rotate the bars back...

Re: 1290 flat up top

I'd get the map sorted first but then maybe adding this since you already have the PC? Looks like adds gains up top? Kind of throwing $'s at the problem, but sometimes that's the answer! http://www.rottweilerperformance.com/dynojet-ignition-module/ New to the 1290 (had a tuned 990) so a rookie, plea...
