Re: Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

I don't understand why somebody would blind copy in a ignition table in a SMT tune from a Adv tune and not checking the A/F. A different ignition requires a different A/F value + the Adventure has a different exhaust routing + length and the power tripp mapping was made with a standard airbox so not...

Re: Ah, the faint smell of burning motorex

Very interesting Spark01, although i was in your country last month I didn't pick up that much of your language ;) I'll take the tank off soon and check, but I think I may some seal issues as well. Bugger. May I contact you for some details of you repair if I do have seal issues, and how did you kn...

Re: Ah, the faint smell of burning motorex

It is better to leave the check valve in place, as it creates some counter pressure for the balance shaft seal. i first did also run without the checkvalve but then oil misting was starting to come from the external crankcase breather. So i had to replace the seal, now only when i ride the motor har...

Re: Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

BTW: I think something is not quite right on the map Spark01 have made. However I noticed some "stalling" around 5000rpm and full throttle. I did some research and I think something is wrong there. The F2 values seems a bit strange on some revs.. Best Regards BTW2: I live in Norway.. Right now runn...

Re: Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

All i did is putting a question mark on 1 thing and then i get blamed that i always have comments and don't have any facts????? So who started this.......not me!. Facts: Why is the JC30/65 box to low: standard stacks are 44mm high and smallest internal diameter is 57mm Tumb rule is that you need a h...

Re: Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Spark01 you obviously doubt what I am saying as you you normally do with most of my posts without any facts at hand. No offence, but i didn't seen any measurements regarding this so you don't have facts as well. + if you create a high speed air flow above the airbox this will create a lower airpres...

Re: Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Your right I have never mentioned this mod before but have been using it for a while mainly on the Dyno. Everytime I run my bike on the dyno I remove the 2 black covers either side of the steering head, this allows for more air to be passed under the tank which helps remove the heat from the top of...

Re: Weird ... My Bike Quit On My Commute Home Tonight

Engine stalls when clutch is pulled in ~5,000 RPM: The fuel injection computer shuts off fuel to the injectors when the throttle is closed at 5k and above. This can cause the engine to stall if the computer doesn't sense the clutch is pulled in at this time. Andreas Berner, KTM Factory Rep: "When yo...

Re: My SMT is finally ALL it can be!

Interestingly my shop mentioned they found the Rotty airbox lost 10hp on a Super Duke recently & the stock box out performed it. I do love the sound of the Rotty though. G Strange as i only did see perfomance gains + ~10Hp including my bike. But Just like kevin said can be the harmonics/combination...

Re: Another 990 Intake option?

Are the RC8 stacks recommended with the CPR intake? I guess my real question is, is the height of the CPR intake lower than the stock airbox? I'm considering the CPR but I would rather stay with the taller stock stacks unless that would cause a power loss. No you can use the standard stack without ...

Re: Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Howdy, still trying out maps... Have loaded sparks no.8 but noticed 2nd flies, o2 sensor, and sas were all enabled? Correct. SAS is removed and replaced by a resistor so no need for disable. 2nd fly are removed and for preventing that the link system or motor gets stuck over time we left them turne...

Re: O2 sensor....an observation

My secondaries and shafts are still in place Kev, so not sure that map would work for me. Just remove the 2nd flies and leave the shafts in. This is a very easy job and by leaving the shafts in you only loose 1hp on top vs a bike that has the shafts removed (this tested 1:1 by Highscore on the germ...

Re: O2 sensor....an observation

I have noticed similar effects.
If you have driving a long time in a warm dry enviroment (ecu is adapted) and than drive in a more humid and colder enviroment.
The bike gets a little bit more jerky on the low rpm's but that will disapear after time when the ecu adapts again.

Re: New bars causing throttle issue

The cable slack must be set on the throttle bodies.
There you have 2 adjusters 1 for pull and another for push ;)
