Re: clutch problems within the first 30km

The clutch slave cylinders are not very good according to various threads here. Many change them for the Oberon which is better quality, something you may consider if your worried about it happening again. I guess the cloud of smoke was clutch fluid burning on your exhaust ?

Re: Gearchange problem

He has viewed as much as he can without doing a major strip down, the bike will probably not get any better without some kind of intervention or repair so you will be taking it back and that will necessitate a deeper investigation. No one wants to do a major strip down but some times that's all ther...

Re: Fuel starvation?

Hope it's sorted, and I suppose it's not justified to label the bike as unreliable really if it was an aftermarket allarm that was the culprit.

Yes that's them, the right side is the one I was told there was a delay on delivery. Still next Week isn't too bad.

Re: Gearchange problem

Re: Exhaust/Heatshield/Luggage Questions

All the bits on that list should be with me in a day or 2. The only thing I'm not entirely sure about is if the exhaust hangers will still work without some sort of spacer as they are currently "spaced" by the luggage rack section. I'm hoping that the plastic bits that replace them from the 990sm w...

Re: Fuel starvation?

Aaaand it's back at the dealer. Finger remains pointed at the SAS, not least because once the problem starts, it pops and crackles like crazy on the overrun. Time will tell whether replacing (or removing, I'm not fussed) sorts it out. If they do find a problem with the SAS don't let them repair or ...

Re: Clutch reservoir cap leaking

Mine was leaking from new. I didn't notice it until I got home a week ago. I will add it to the squeaking brakes discussion at my first service. I will ask for a new seal. At least all the problems are common and there good ideas on cures here on this forum. It may have been overfilled which can ad...

Re: Strange events on the SMT

Before side stand cut-out switches it was a common occurance for riders to have accidents from side stands throwing the rider when the stand was down and taking a left hand bend at speed. http://www.youtube.com/embed/F2obchwWKuY That makes me shudder, mate of mine many years ago did that at about 5...

Re: Exhaust/Heatshield/Luggage Questions

Legion, no problem, just done same to my bike looks great. Had to do a couple of mods to get everything to fit nicely but happy with end result. Will gladly help with advise when your parts arrive if you need it. I was told by several suppliers that there would be a delivery delay of 3 weeks for the...

Re: Strange events on the SMT

Worse things have happened from thrown up road debris. At least it got your attention and slowed you down so you could check it out. Before side stand cut-out switches it was a common occurance for riders to have accidents from side stands throwing the rider when the stand was down and taking a left...

Was the oil coming from the clutch slave cylinder or the clutch cover?

Re: HELP Missfire when bike gets hot

This could be blocked fuel filters in the tank. Your track day fuel churning could allow debris to cover your filter socks and when you shut down and suction stops the debris falls back to bottom of the tank.

Re: Clutch reservoir cap leaking

You may have put a miniscule tear in it while cleaning, especially if the rubber was a bit thin on one of the expansion wrinkles. That would allow oil to flow out of the breather notch in the top cover.

Re: Fuel starvation?

Take it back to the dealer or read the ECU with Tuneecu to see if the SAS error code is back again. If it is it needs sorting properly as merely clearing the error code is not enough.

There are some conflicting symptoms on your ECU. I would'nt trust it just yet.
