I’ve been tempted by the dark side for the same money I can get a Yamaha tracer gt with full colour tft dash cruse control quick shifter and panniers.

The 1290 is a nice piece of kit but it’s a little out of my price range and I don’t know if it will be as fun in the twisty bits because if the extra weight.

Hi I’m thinking of changing my 2010 Smt for a 1090 Adventure, I like a bit of 2up touring but also having fun on the twisty bits around Dartmoor. The smt will tour I’ve done a 2up trip to Bruges and a solo to Austria but you know you’ve done the miles. Also at 8 years old I think the price will fall...

Can anyone recomend a good upholsterer in the uk I would like to get the seat widend to fit my arse and maybe have some kind of comfort pad fitted.

Just had a quote for a corbin seat, on the web site its $499 about £275 m&p quoted £450 about $740 what a rip off.

I don't have a laptop and I don't think my girlfriend will be impressed if she came home and found my SMT in the front room.
Its running fine so I'm not going to worrie about it.

The handbook states 8kg but there have been some sub frame issues with the early models.

Hi I do my own Servicing so my bike has not been connected to the diagnostic tool for over 2 years.

Just a quick note if you wash your bike pointing up hill don't remove the fuel cap untill you have turned around because water pools around the fuel cap and goes in the tank if you remove the cap.

Yes the pistons are fully back but if they were out it would not matter because when you have put inner pad in (no piston this side) the outter pad hits the caliper body.

Ferodo pads dont fit

Bought some Ferodo FDB2030P platinum rear brake pads on line but they don't fit because they are to thick. I looked at the specs and found the Ferodo pads have a combined thicknes of 18.7mm and the Brembo pads are 16mm thick. The Ferodo pads are listed as fitting the SMT. Has anybody else come acros...

More bulk than weight so its not to bad also the sub frame was not broken just did not want it to go when I'm on holiday.
