Re: Yesterdays ride

I see your points. I'm slow enough to not get stopped by them a lot, but I can say that also in Italy they are getting nastier. In CH I had a bad experience due to a faster mate, in France I never saw them, as in Austria.

Re: 4 Days Trip

I hope this will be useful.

As a side note, I would suggest to bend the vertical bar towards the rider. doing this way will allow to use the garmin even with the small wind screen.

Re: 4 Days Trip

Excuse me for the late, I've simply missed the question.

you can see a little footage about the mount. is made with a bent aluminum bar and fixed using the windscreen screws.
Then I've used the free power plugs behind the lamp.

Re: New 1190 Adventure

this make sense to me. KTM is building up a bike that should be liked by the road and off-road lovers. Why to mantain another road bike like the SMT? If you like a tourer, then the answer is the ADV, if you like to run, then you'll probably have the SD. I have a bike that it's almost perfect, I like...

Re: New SMT for 2014

Italy, jan-Aug 2012
990 ADV - 188
990 SMT - 186

I can't find SMR or ADV R in the first 100 positions

Re: New 1190 Adventure

Unfortunately I don't see KTM ever updating the SMT now. A 1190 SMT (with electronic suspension and multifunction display) would be too similar to the new Adventure. That is a great shame because a 1190 SMT with electronic suspensions and multifunction display is excactly what I have been clamoring...

Re: New 1190 Adventure

at least the new one is too powerful for my taste. 150 HP is almost unusable in Italy, I really don't know why to have so much power under the butt.... If you want less than maximum power you just go easy with the throttle - it does go both ways, after all. But if you want more than maximum power, ...

Re: New 1190 Adventure

I quote Ogden too. I like SMT because it's the right size, weight, power, and so on. I had the chance to get the ADV instead of the SMT, but I've choose the SMT because it was more road runner than ADV and better than Duke for travel. I like the 17 wheel when I ride solo in narrow roads. ADV it's ok...

Re: New 1190 Adventure

I think that one of the best thing about SMT is the lightness, agility and usability. Probably 150 hp is too much, it would definitely change the behaviour of the bike.. but I'm afraid that marketers have a different mind. I'm also scared of a 18 inch front wheel version of ADV that would remove SMT...

Re: A loop of wales

Very nice. Every day I think that I should go to Wales and Scotland by bike.... I had a little thrill when you approached the turnabout on the 'wrong' side... it look very strange to my eyes. I think that I would probably to a lot of mistakes driving in UK :) I have a question: on the road there wer...

Re: Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

I've done a few tests. I've committed your map with your mod suggestions and the bike is really smoother.. even too much! I have to turn ALL the throttle to have the bike push as usual. But the throttle is very nice, no more on/off fully usable since 2500 rpm, really nice. Then I've just thought tha...

Re: Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Great, Thank you. So I have to stay on my idea that I should enrich the mix to calm down the on/off effect, and use just the F maps. As the first step I'll try to make a 2% richer mix on both tables, then I'll try to find out if the direction is good. May you point me to some theorical instructions ...

Re: Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Hello, I'm trying to understand how maps are working, so, please, be patient if I'm wrong or odd. I own a fully standard european SMT and I'm comparing the standard SMT map with the latest map that Kevxtx have uploaded. My first target is to limit the ON/OFF effect on the throttle. People who tried ...

Dunlop Qualifier 2 or Michelin PR3's

I see your point, anyway the omologation fiche in Italy does not cover that speed index, and I can't legally use them :(

@Mikeylikesit Continetal has two offroad tires that will fit on SMT: TKC80 http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/de/en/continental/motorcycle/themes/motorcycletires/enduro/tkc_80/tkc_80_en.html http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/de/de/continental/motorrad/themen/motorradreifen/enduro/tkc...
