Re: Instructions/manual for soft panniers?

No, the tiny Velcro pouches are to house the locks when not being used. Have yours got the locking release inside? If not, try and find a lock Kit as it means you can lock them to the bike. It’s basically the same mechanism you use to get them off the bike, only inside the bags and then when you lo...

Exhaust Heat Shields

Looking to get the exhaust heat shields carbon wrapped, my local guy is bloody amazing at this stuff. Going to remove the heat protector on the inside beforehand, just want to ask... is it necessary to put it back in? Anyone had experience in this? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181023/986970513...

Re: KTM 76014937044 LED indicators

Hi HR The blinker circuit is integrated into the hazard light switch. J I thought it had to be something like that after I couldn’t find the relay, I’m thinking of getting some in-line resistors like these to slow down the blinker rate? Also looking at the supplied indicators there’s something in-l...

KTM 76014937044 LED indicators

So I’ve purchased a set of the KTM LED indicators from Gear 4, beforehand I emailed them asking if this kit will fit my 2013 SMT, which came back confirming they will. https://www.gear4motorcycles.co.uk/parts/parts-by-ktm-model/ktm-street-range/ktm-690-sm-smc/led-indicator-set-690-duke-08-15-690-end...

Maybe you should try some tape for threads? Don't know the name of it.
Or Loctite that you can remove?

New copper crush washer used, also tried some PTFE tape and still the same [emoji20]

Sump plug still leaking

Any advice, fitted helicoil to sump and does up a treat to correct lbs with wrench but still dripping. A very little amount but dripping, any advice on sorting this - some kinda sealer etc. Not really worried in taking the plug back out in the future as there’s loads of other places I can drain down...

Re: Remove oil tank

Yeah, quite easy, remove the M14 oil line (I assume this is the one you have to helicoil?), two screws of the oil filter cover, and three bolts holding the tank to the frame/radiator. I had to helicoil mine as well, if a machine shop tells you that it's going to be a pain to jig it and/or they'll n...

Remove oil tank

I’m being really lazy here with this post as I’m sitting in bloody traffic, how easy is it to remove the oil tank as I need to helicoil the sump plug. Looking in the maintenance manual there’s nothing clear and not had a proper look, so I thought I’d ask the KTM massive [emoji106] Sent from my iPhon...

2012 SMT Repair Manual

Search all over the net and for the life of me can’t find an electronic copy of a repair manual for my 2012 SMT, managed to find a copy for the 2003-2007 and as far as I can see there’s not much difference in the two LC8 engines. I’m looking to change the clutch plates and just want a quick read up ...

Checking oil level

Is there a better way of checking the oil level, as this way is a right ball ache. For example I’ve just done an oil & filter change on my mates 1200 Multistrada and it’s as simple as fill up until level is between the two the marks - job done. None of this messing about.... https://uploads.tapatalk...

Not so smooth gears?

Advice please. 2012 SMT, rides perfect but struggles to get into first gear when stopped. A BIG clunk when I first drop it into first when stationary after that when moving goes through the gears lovely. Engine flush or not?

What the general feeling on doing an engine flush? I’ve recently bought this mint 2012 SMT from a local KTM dealer full KTM history but it came with 48k on the clock, I’m not worried as the book is all stamped up by the same dealer who originally sold it to the one owner who in turn traded it in for...

Bike creeping when clutch pulled in?

Hi, searched some old posts but can’t see anything definitive I’ve a 2012 SMT and loving it but I’m sitting in traffic and the clutch is pulled in the bike starts to creep forward. Also when engine is hot it’s hard to knock bike into neutral from first gear, like others turning the engine off and kn...

Re: Soft panniers retaining pin

Guys I’ve just bought the two sets of pins on eBay for less than £15, take a look at the pictures and do a search on eBay for index plunger pins. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180616/bfb8332e4f7dcaa7e249dac2286fcb74.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180616/b73b30dc56157568e1da0d9480e2bd31....
