Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

Nice!!! Never doubt D-Rock! :D good to hear Dave, seriously. I had to start my bike thursday morning to move it. It was 28 degrees at the time and it would not start. After a few tries it did much to my surprise. When I went to start it this morning it gave me some trouble, but not much, and the nig...

Re: PR5s

Rock, the PR5's are a large step up from the PR4's, They match the 4's in the wet, but are far away better in the dry, their edge grip is great, no vagueness or squirming on the throttle compared to the 4's. I wasn't a big fan of the OEM Angels, they were ok, but the PR5s are a far better all-round...

Re: PR5s

Dave, this is your Doctor. I hereby grant you the authority :D So I was just talking tires today. I'm not liking the Angels right now. They're just a bit past the mid-point and they are acting strange in the wet and the wind. They are wearing evenly and will no doubt last a good long time, but I'm n...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

I have to go with my jap bikes in terms of reliability. They were the majority of the bikes I've owned. Not that EVERY model is perfect. THe MT10 is having its issues with the dumbed down cross plank with non titanium parts fouling easily, but it's not a bike I ever have or would own. I've had six T...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

I actually brought a US bike from KTM here in NZ, the first run never sold well in the US market. The first batch of 2016 models in NZ sold out in a week, so i had to wait 4 months while they imported unsold models from the US, I've done 28,000Kms with nothing more than the stand spur braking. Have...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

I am riding it! Even though we have 45 mph winds today :D Dave I have to disagree. THis does not happen on all models. There is a reason the GTs resale value in my area is much less than any other 20k bike: people just don't trust them. I may think about the rear sprocket. My twist is about as fast ...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

So loose ground wire, which I'm told is common, and carbon buildup on the terminals and contacts. both covered under warranty. Not that it would have cost anything to address that. So even though the light on my dash indicated 14v charging there really wasn't an adequate charge. Or at lest there was...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

THanks guys. I'm going to take a ride to the dealer and have them run diagnostics. I ran the bike over the weekend and rode to work that morning and during lunchtime. I also was at the tail end of my hour and fifteen minute commute so it can't be that the bike sat for too long. It started right up i...

Dash blanked out after stall and restart

So a bit of an unpleasant experience on the way home tonight. The bike stalled for no good reason, on the highway, dash went blank and bike would not restart. After paddling frantically to get off on the shoulder it restarted after a couple tries, sort of reluctantly, but the dash stilled stayed dar...

wundabar!
Danka pk. :)

I like it but I think I like the front of the current bikes better. THis is one of the few times I'm not overly eager to trade up. My bike being 4 months old doesn't hurt either :D

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Thanks Rock. Two days and counting. I’m going to the hospital this morning for pre registration. They call it pre-op, but it’s really about making sure I can pay and sign waivers  Yes, it's to get you while you're lucid for the most part :D . They do actually need to make sure you're "ready" p...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

shoot sorry to hear this JJ. They've gotten much better with them but the recovery does take a bit of time. I know what you mean with regards to pain killers. Whenever I get some for root canal, shoulder vacuuming or something, I throw them out as soon as I can sleep without them. I like them a bit ...

Re: KTM Top Case

Not sure why I’m just seeing this post. Yes, the S1000R is gone. I liked the bike and put 23,000 miles on it. I can’t explain it, but I liked it a lot but didn’t love it a lot. I was surprised that it lacked refinement in a few different areas. I have read that the upgrades in 2017 made it a bit mo...

Enough "me too" Phonies

I've had enough of these fake me too biotches. I feel for the "real" victims, but these end of their rope hasbeens need to find another way to become viable. Let's help Chris out. https://www.change.org/p/talking-dead-fans-walking-dead-fans-fear-fans-bring-chris-hardwick?recruiter=627655001&utm_sour...

Re: Anyone try National Cycle V-Steam wind screen.

I got really hot and humid so I didn't put it on as I was enjoying the wind blast. I also wanted to make sure I really needed it before I took it out of the box in case I wanted to return it. Well, it was like 60 degrees this morning and I was freezing on the highway in my summer mesh jacket, so I t...

Re: Seven warranty claims, and counting

I literally humped my GT today in the parking lot. THis bike just does something to you. Even to normal people  I had the master cylinder replaced the day before I picked up the bike, and have since had the fuel pump replaced, which took only an hour, and that weird dampening error from the loo...
