Re: PR5s

I got a ticket on this bike too. I feel like it's kind of a big orange cop beacon. Here The States I don't think our points system is a brutal as you guys, but it still ain't cheap.

Re: any issue with SAS delete and Cat?

I have rottie intake, SAS delete and fueling dongles with the cat and I don't have any problems. Next year I'll probably add a PCV and a link pipe. Runs great.

Re: Mirror vibrations and blurring

I just hold the mirror for a sec if I think a cop is behind me. I'm impressed with your solution though!

Re: Fork seal gone

The manual specifies using that Joker lubricant and pulling down the dust boot and cleaning/lubing. I have tried this and it didn't really help my weeping forks. If you clean the oil on the forks off, sit on the bike and then grab the handle bars (and front brake lol) and bounce the front end up and...

Re: Akrapovic baffle removal

I can only comment on the sound. It does sound considerably better than the stock can. I haven't heard the Akro with the baffle in though - I bought a used Akro from ebay that already had the baffle removed. It sounds subjectively 'meatier' than the stock exhaust does and is also significantly loude...

Re: Flashing E Realy Means One Gallon Left!!

If I pull into the station when the last bar on the fuel gauge is blinking I get 5 gallons in it. I drained the tank completely to do some work and re-filled it... it does not seem to hold a full 6.1 gallons it was closer to 5.7 or thereabouts.

This is the OEM Fender Eliminator P/N 61408915544. Don't know if it would fit a euro style billboard-sized license plate :D

Re: Fork seal gone

Thanks for the response. I was basically told my fork seals aren't bad enough to be covered - if I wanted a fix KTM would pay for the parts but I'd be stuck with the labor. This comes to about 230 bucks. I will probably just let it weep for a while... I can live with it unless it gets worse. Good lu...

Re: KTM Top Case

I will probably get rid of the canister. I've read up on a couple of options. Any suggestions. I went with the Rottweiler Performance SAS Stage 2 kit. Works really well. I'd also recommend getting the fueling dongles and finding/buying some threaded plugs for the O2 sensors holes. The dongles trick...

I like the orange engine guards. Is that aftermarket or did you paint the stock ones?

Re: Bag gaskets

Yeah all I have on my 2017 are plastic lips. The driver's side pannier lets water in as well. I think KTM is going to replace it - but it's really just a design flaw. There's just too much surface area on the leading edge of the pannier without any fastener... there might be a way to put an adhesive...

Re: KTM Top Case

If you do the canister delete it frees up a pretty good amount of space under the pillion seat - at least enough for a phone and a wallet. I also bought the KTM '1290 GT' tank bag. It is rather small but pretty well built.

I come from a similar background. I had an Aprilia Tuono and switched to the SDGT. I don't regret it. The SDGT really belongs in a category all its own.

Re: Seven warranty claims, and counting

Flapper is a lousy design. I think the bags are inherently flawed and I'm not even sure if they replaced them that I'd be in any better shape. My bags like to shed the weatherstripping and have big gaps in the front of them. That said, I absolutely love riding this bike. I don't think there's anythi...

Re: Fork seal gone

I've got a 2017 that has the same issue... both forks are weeping oil. I get rings on both forks after just about every ride. I'm working on getting the bike scheduled for service. Dealer sent me to KTM and KTM sent me back to the dealer. They want to look at the bike before any decision is made abo...

Re: Hard Suspension

I have a 2017 with a little over 2k and the suspension seems fine to me. I had a 2013 Tuono before the GT and The T would detach a retina riding over beat-up country roads it was so stiff. I weigh about 215 and with the bags on in 1+luggage preload it feels just right. I just leave the suspension on...
