Re: Factory heated grips

Thanks for the advice. Popping in tomorrow, the plan is to plug in another set of grips. This will eliminate the grips or the control for the grips. Fingers crossed.

Factory heated grips

My bike has been laid up for 3 months whilst having some work done. Prior to the work the grips were set on high. Got the bike back and had two rides. On the second ride I tried to set the grips to low or medium and the pressing of buttons had no response. Went to the main menu and turned them off. ...

Re: Best Front Suspension for Both Road and Track?

On the YouTube channel 44 teeth, Al Fagan has tested the WP fork cartridges and rear shock for the 1290R. Whilst this set up is meant for the track, it obviously can be used for the road with a little softening of the damping. The cost of the units total something like £2800. He really rated the sho...

Re: Warning: Verify clutch fluid replacement is appropriate!

My 17 SD seems to have suffered from this. I bought it from a dealer who told me it was previously owned by a KTM manager/bigwig. I to noticed the reservoir diaphragm had swollen up. Took it to my local dealer (not the one I bought the bike from) and they have warrantied reservoir, M/S rebuild kit a...

Re: Full Akra set up minus a bit

Thanks for the tip. I’ll try that. I suppose with kit on I’m about 92kg (just over 14stones). Would that be too heavy for stock springs?

Full Akra set up minus a bit

Whilst cleaning the 1290 the other day I noticed I’ve touched the ground with the ti exhaust header on the right side of the bike. Stock rear sets were known for low ground clearance and when I bought my 1290 they had been swapped for the Powerparts version. Nothing about exhaust ground clearance ha...

CRG Arrow. These are fault less. Look good, loads of visibility, rock solid. Ok one fault, not cheap but that’s cos of the above. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Re: 1290 Mode Control Question

After reading about how the SD1290 is the fastest bike from 30 to 70mph (don’t know if that’s a fact) I got myself on a nice straight road, selected third and at 30 pinned it. I was in Sport with everything on (AWC MTC). The bike lugged for about a second and at about 50mph the front started to rise...

Re: Pillion Seat cover 2017 superduke looks bad

It’s a bit bone idle of KTM to fob us off with a pillion seat cover from the previous version SD. Saying that, I went ahead and bought one as it looks better than the pillion seat. Unfortunately, all the after market carbon alternatives have used the original pillion seat cover as a pattern, so it s...

you know the factory bars have a second fitting option? You can move them to a more forward set of holes. Not a flat bar by any means, but just throwing the option out there.
Just had a look. Already in the forward position. Looks like it’s new bars then.

LSL Drag bar

I want to get more over the front of the bike. I know this bar will achieve this aim but what’s it like to fit? Pain in the arse or relatively straight forward. How much different does it feel from stock.
Thx for any advice/opinions given

Re: Roadlok

I’ve had a roadlok for a couple of years now. It’s not the PP version just plain black. It was first fitted to an Aprilia then a BMW and now my 1290. Just needed to machine up the correct spacers for each change of bike. It’s not the be all and end all security item, but when stopping at bike meets ...

Re: Bar ends!

Took a very cold ride to meet Mogas. Well worth it though, he gave me those guards! Top bloke and generous to boot. Now if the weather ever gets warm enough I think there will be Team Superduke ride planned. 👍🏼 Cheers mate.
