Re: Denali d4 driving lights on a GT

I look forward to the results. I did some studying yesterday on the Denali D2s. I’ll probably get them and use the Fender Mount bolts. I already have power I can use coming from the battery through a relay and wired as I explained under the tank up to the front.

Re: pdm 60 location

I have not put one on my SD, but have put one on my BMW 1600. It’s a great product. I would just make room under the rear seat. Like you, I also would like to get rid of the canister. Just have not gotten around to it yet.

Re: Denali d4 driving lights on a GT

I recommend not taking the tank off. I was able to run wires under the side panels by taking them off. I had to have work done at the dealer that involved them taking the tank off. When I took the bike in they thought it was gong to be a simple 30 minute job and did not know the tank would have to c...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Sorry to hear about the complications Dave. High cholesterol and blood pressure run in my family and at 65 years old I see my Cardiologist on a regular basis. In fact I have a stress test scheduled in July. I’m hopeful all my meds will keep me from going through what you are, but I know it’s a very ...

Re: Flashing E Realy Means One Gallon Left!!

I sort of made that assumption today when it started flashing and the miles to empty said 30. I cut that in half as my experience has been on all my vehicles that the trip computer can't be trusted. After about 10 miles of riding it still said 30 and I pulled into the first gas station I could find...

Re: MTC Failure Disaster

The real riders still ride all summer in Houston, but I admit I know many who don't. I do 350 mile Saturday rides all year around, and every Sunday I get up early and do 150 miles and am home by 10:00 usually. Jim, I would definitely not put you in the category of MOST riders. In fact, you belong t...

Re: MTC Failure Disaster

Good to see you as always Joe. Good luck on the free service. I’m skeptical!

I’m glad you finally have a bike that will keep up. You’ve always been a great rider, but now you have the bike!

I will probably get rid of the canister. I've read up on a couple of options. Any suggestions.

Re: KTM Top Case

Joe, I have three identical Nelson Rig Tail bags. One is a permanent fixture on my 1600 and one on my SDGT. It looks like it was custom made to fit on the passenger seat of the SD. Sadly I cannot for the life of me figure out why the "add files" feature when posting a response does not work for me o...

Re: MTC Failure Disaster

Joe, make sure it is not the hose that runs across the front of the gas tank from side to side that equalizes the tank. On each side it attaches to a fitting under the gas tank that has a knob for opening and closing the fuel flow. If you ride very far it probably would have run out of gas at some p...

Re: Fuel range displayed

The range on my bike is pretty accurate. In fact, I've checked my average mpg several times and it's always been within one mpg, and twice I've gotten better mileage than the readout on the bike. Good to hear the dealer was able to fix yours. I've noticed that my fuel range display must be just tha...

Re: MTC Failure Disaster

Joe, I did see the diagram. Your explanation was perfect. Thanks. Hope you get it back this week. Whenever this shit happens I'm glad that we have multiple bikes to ride. I'd stroke out if it were my only bike. I agree, although given my luck, 5 bikes may not be enough! :-) I need to try that line ...

Re: MTC Failure Disaster

Joe, I think I must have misunderstood what a spark plug insert is when you sent me the e-mail. What does it do? I assumed it was what the spark plug screws into, but it can't be plastic if that's what it is. I'm confused :?:
