Re: New member from Devon, UK

Just to be clear about the U.S. denouncing climate change. It's really only one person. Yes, I get that he is the boss right now. But we do have term limits. If we could just get a short lived recession to start in late summer, it could be just one term. I had my fingers crossed for impeachment, bu...

Re: Fuel Injection info from Booster Plug - a good read.

Thanks for the recognition Dave. Yes, that made the tank installl much easier.

Good work on the new exhaust! Sorry about your weather. You get now what Houston gets the other half of the year. It's winter here if course. Great weather for riding here now.

Re: 2017 Fueling

I'm very surprised you did not find that out about the bike. Before I bought mine I read many posts saying that you basically can't put it in sixth gear below about 70 mph. Yes, it's real and the only fix is to lower the gearing. I see no need to do that, I just keep in in the right gear to stay abo...

Re: New Member

Welcome! I'm the member who is not Dave :D I also had my bike updated at the 18,000 mile service. The suspension update is not night and day, but it is noticeable. It also updates the bikes fueling. I'm not sure I notice it or not. Might be a little better at low rpms. But we quickly learn to avoid ...

I tried both seats also. Then I had Sargent make a seat for it. Problem solved.

Re: Ergo Heated Seat question

Mine did have to be activated by the dealer. It's a quick and simple process. My dealer did not charge me to do it. But I did just buy the bike and the seat from them. I don't think there was any code needed. They simply activate the setting when they hook their computer to the bike.

Re: New Wheel Removal Tool - 60/40mm Combined for 1290 HDESA Brand

Cheers JJ, I thought the same and just had to buy it....... . But it will be a handy item.... I'm hoping the 40mm side does the drive sprocket nut..... there are no hex nuts on the front axle of an SDGT...... if so then I have a tool to swap from 16t to 17t if I want..... I'm just over 18k km...

Re: 2017 vs 2019?

Please keep us posted. I think you have a great approach. As much as I like my 2017, I admit that $20,000 for it would have been a deal killer. I got mine when KTM had incentives on them. I have three motorcycles and a pretty nice car....and I'm now retired. I can't do it with smoke and mirrors anym...

Re: 2017 vs 2019?

There are quite a few differences to the 2019. I have not ridden one, so you will have to decide how important the changes are. I'm going by memory... LED headlight New TFT dash with KTM connectivity (you should study this, many features via Bluetooth connected app) Side panel storage for small item...

I agree with Dave. You apparently never lost enough oil to lose pickup in the engine to keep oil circulating.

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Sorry to hear Dave, but those operations are very routine now. My riding buddy had it done a couple of years ago. Two months after his surgery we did a 3700 mile trip.

Beautiful dog. I’m a huge dog lover. Send him to Houston and I’ll walk him :D

Re: Gearing Ratio's for SDGT's

Good information Dave. I'm still stock, but I do think I might try a bigger rear sprocket. Just hasn't risen to the top of my to-do list yet.
