Re: Any reliable SD-GT's out there?

Seems like a good time to update this thread. I'm at almost exactly one year now. Despite not riding for nearly three months due to open heart surgery, and having two other bikes, I'm just over 10,000 miles now. Zero problems.

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

I'm sorry to hear your missfortunate Rock. But yes, I know exactly what you are going through. I just had my six month anniversary a few days ago and I'm doing fantastic. I can honestly tell you that my recovery went very well. The secret for me was a very positive attitude and sense of humor. I als...

^^You have to shrink the image first, i got my computer savy son to hook me up with how to do this, on an Apple MacPro, i do it through TOOLS- adjust size.
I wish it would have told me that. I have no trouble uploading pics on other sites. Thanks.

New FJR 1300 in my stable

I don't know the best place to post this, but I just traded my 1600 BMW for a new leftover 2017 FJR1300. I had one about ten years ago and loved it. I'm happy to be back on one, especially with all the upgrades they have made. It's my retirement present to myself. I had two 1600 GTs and obviously li...

Re: K&N Airfilter Installed

I'll give you a little more advice. Don't silicone the clips in. Pull them out with a pair of plyers before you take the tank off, and you can slide them back in after the tank is back on. I've done it a few times now. Great idea..... thanks....... makes sense...... the silastic won't hold next tim...

Re: 2019 KTM SDGT Photo's are Out

I have both a SD GT and a 1600GT, my second 1600. Also, the guy I ride with every weekend has a H2 SX (along with a SD-R and FJR). So I have riden all three of your choices. BTW, you should know that Kawasaki dealers are allowed to put an H2 SX in demo service. If you want to travel to Houston I ca...

Re: Anyone know what spare connectors under SAS are for ?

The spare connectors under the seat and behind the instruments are for accessories. In both places one set is switched and one set is hot all the time. I bought the comfort seat and did not like it. It sits too high and seems to be crowned as opposed to "scooped". I found it very uncomfortable. On t...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

I had full Akra system and Power Commander on mine. I dyno'd at 123 stock and 140 after. I also had a Sargent seat that I literary had waiting at home when I took delivery of the bike. You are correct that I didn't get any of the money back out of the mods, but I never expected to either. As to the ...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

Had another look at the 'fuse box' and there are different height fuses in the centre positions with shorter ones to the outside positions....... so unless they are loose, the step up in the centre is not an issue. My GT fired up nice (as always)...... now if I can just get my body to work as well ...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

That is horrendous news, what a waste. All the very best to you and your family. Thanx Mick, much appreciated. He was the baby of the family, the youngest of 8 children. Im going to miss him. As much as he was a pain in the arse, i got many laughs from him. Very sorry to hear this. My condolences D...

Re: One Small Step For Me....One Giant Leap For Me Toooo

:D ...... After a disappointing visit to my local GP (not Dr Rock  ) - no letter of authority to drive :x - I phoned the big hospital to ask what was happening....... and they were surprised I was waiting for a letter  . So they don't write/email advising when/if a patient is able/not to...

Re: PR5s

Rock, the PR5's are a large step up from the PR4's, They match the 4's in the wet, but are far away better in the dry, their edge grip is great, no vagueness or squirming on the throttle compared to the 4's. I wasn't a big fan of the OEM Angels, they were ok, but the PR5s are a far better all-round...

Re: 2019 KTM SDGT Photo's are Out

Well, we have decided we are getting a new bike Q4 next year. We will be close to 3 years and probably 25K miles...we are currently about 15K. We have ridden the BMW K1600GT and nope! We want to ride an H2 SX SE but it seems you have to buy the bike to ride it sooooooo we will be getting 2019 Super...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Cheers jj..... not yet :( ....... but my six months sin-bin ends next week. I'm seeing my local GP on Friday 16th. Hoping he has the letter from the specialists at the hospital with a good pass mark for me to begin driving again. I've not had any issues like dizzyness or chest pains etc but I still...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

Yes, mine did that about a month ago. See the link below to a post I made on another forum. In retrospect, I think the battery voltage may have been a little low from the bike sitting for several weeks. I’m back to riding the bike every weekend and it has not done it again. https://www.ktmforum.co.u...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Sorry to hear of another delay. Here in the U.S. they don't have a mechanism for taking away a drivers license for a medical procedure. I'm pretty sure we do for pilots, but not a ground based drivers license. If we do I have never heard of it, and I could have driven whenever I wanted from a legal ...
