Re: '16 vs '17 GT
The reliability of the '16's is subpar--issues with suspension, rough idle. Search the forum--you'll find the problems. Always better to buy a bike after its initial release year.

Re: '16 vs '17 GT
My advice is to stay AWAY from the '16. Far away.

Re: Anyone try National Cycle V-Steam wind screen.
Looks great but....that won't make a bit of difference over the OEM screen in terms of wind deflection. I've had great results from this Puig with integrated spoiler. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Windscreen-Puig-Vario-KTM-1290-Super-Duke-GT-16-17-light-smoke-touring-screen/332507359123?epid=24005152814&...

Re: Do the vibrations get better?
When I test rode the GT, it was a ‘17. I was blown away. A refined beast. I don’t recall a lot of engine vibration. But there was a ‘16 at a different dealer that was deeply discounted. It had 0 miles on it. They let me turn it on, but wouldn’t let me test ride it. Perhaps foolishly I bought that bi...

Do the vibrations get better?
So I’ve put 600 miles on the GT and really like a lot about the bike. I love the seating position and handling. I personally haven’t had an issue with the suspension. But my ‘16 seems to vibrate an awful lot, even at high rpm. Does this improve as the engine beds in over time?

Re: 40 T rear sprocket
Since changing to a 40T rear sprocket, the bike rides tremendously better. But I still don't use 6th unless I'm on the interstate going consistently faster than 75-80 mph. So I would not go to a 39 if I were you.

Re: Pushing the GT in 1st gear
Thanks guys. Good to know it’s not an issue with the SDGT. Like I said, my BMW R1200R is easy to push around in 1st with the clutch squeezed. It has a dry clutch though. Maybe that’s the difference.

Wow Doc.
Nice job and way to work through the the issues. It looks really sharp—especially the LED turn signals. Was it difficult to wire in the turn signals?

Re: Pushing the GT in 1st gear
So just to confirm, it’s not supposed to be difficult to roll the turned off bike in 1st gear and the clutch squeezed? It should be just as easy as if it is in neutral?

Pushing the GT in 1st gear
Hey guys. When I try to move my turned-off GT around the garage with the clutch squeezed and the bike in 1st gear, it's really difficult to move around. When I put her in Neutral, it's easy to move her around. I'm confused by that. It makes no difference moving my turned-off BMW R12R around whether ...

Re: Warranty coverage for 2016 SDGT?
Really? 2 years warratny in the US? I bought my '16 in November and it only had a 1 year warranty. When did you purchase yours akamire? That may be how they slashed the price so steeply and offered the dealers a rebate.

Re: 40 T rear sprocket
Some have noted that changing to a 16T front sprocket was too extreme. Most have felt just a 2-tooth change in the rear does the trick. I’m curious how a 41T or 42T rear sprocket would affect the bike since the 40T was such a positive change. I’m not so into sheer speed as I am into low end torque a...

Re: 40 T rear sprocket
So I changed to a 40T Supersprox Aluminum Alloy rear sprocket. As everyone said, it was pretty straight forward even though I've never even adjusted a chain before. I took her out today and I must say it has vastly improved the riding experience for me. In addition, as many have said here, I'm slowl...

Re: GPS Bracket
I assume when you tighten the bolt on the RAM mount the gap that the windscreen securing pin travels in must narrow some, no? Does this change the ease with which you can raise and lower the windscreen?

Can you send a pic if possible? Especially of the bolt you used?
Thanks again.
