Re: Seven warranty claims, and counting

Update: I started this thread in May 2018. Well, it's now almost a year and a half later, and I'm happy to report that my bike has been totally trouble free. With a bit over 12,000 miles on the odometer, all I have done is oil changes and tire replacements. I had to take a few months off from riding...

Re: Plugging in

I wired mine directly to battery, as is the recommended method by Warm 'n Safe, where I got my gear, and my coax pigtail connector.

Re: Anyone else ever forget they had panniers on and go 150mph +?

The metal KTM stickers on both panniers of my 2019 SDGT are becoming unglued. KTM could not replace those stickers, so they are changing both panniers. I had to buy one of those buggers, $20 bucks US or so. I can get the part number if you need it. (Edited to add) I could use a right side case if y...

Scuffed mine up pretty good in a low side. Anybody know how/where to order just the one?

Or maybe have one for sale?
Never mind, everybody, I fixed the old one.

Re: Gearing Ratio's for SDGT's

Guess I'm in the minority, but I love the OEM gearing. I find that I spend most of my riding in either 3rd or 4th, (covers 40 - 70mph) so not much time is spent shifting gears. On the rare day I get to the interstate, I'll go to 5th, but it's rarely needed. Sixth gear? Never need it. I just don't se...

Need a new battery

Anybody got a recommendation?
Yuasa no longer makes the OEM battery (the YTX14S), and it's replacement is too tall. I cannot find anyone selling a battery with 200+ CCAs that will fit the 2016 SDGT.

Size measures 3.75" x 6" x 4.25"

Anyone?

Re: Constands CENTRAL STAND EVO or Abba SUPERBIKE

Abba supplies a bobbin that fits inside the rear axle. Alas, the very first time I used the lift, I forgot to remove the bobbin. When I went for a spin, the bobbin was lost somewhere along the way, never to be found. Abba sells replacement bobbins, but since I'm such a cheapskate, I just used an 8" ...

Re: Constands CENTRAL STAND EVO or Abba SUPERBIKE

Used my Abba with front wheel lift accessory yesterday, while installing new front tire for my SDGT. Worked like a champ! Easy, stable.

Re: Constands CENTRAL STAND EVO or Abba SUPERBIKE

@Aussie Dave: Great looking stand. Will make chain &tire maintenance a snap. Did they offer/did you also order the extra rail to enable lifting front wheel as well? Yours appears very similar to my ABBA lift. Same principle exactly, pins and all.

Re: Constands CENTRAL STAND EVO or Abba SUPERBIKE

I bought the Abba stand. Only one bit to each side. I "fixed" the bits to the stand with double sided tape, and no longer worry about them falling off just as I get set for a lift. I like the Abba, and recommend it to anyone still looking for a stand.

Yup, a GT, with regular oil and filter changes using Motorex. It's on the Advrider thread.

Cam lobes damaged!

Rider posted on another forum of scarred cam lobes found during 18,000 mile valve check. Anybody here see any damage/defects when doing valve check?

Get used to to it. No way to change it.
Yup. It's the one thing that my SDGT has in common with my DR-Z400S.

I have the regular ABBA lift, with the attachment for front wheel lift. Much less expensive than the Sky Lift, but still gives me the ability to change my own tires.

Did you get the fuel pump recall done as well Russ?
I know nothing of a fuel pump recall??? Tony did not mention it. Maybe only on the grey ones? Lol
My dealer said it was a fuel line (not pump) recall. But mine's a 2016, so maybe that's the difference.

Re: Bag gaskets

Does anyone else has the same issue I have with the factory bags? You open them and the gaskets get pulled out, having me to poke them back into place. Could glue them. Any other ideas? My left bag gasket was repaired (probably "re-glued") under one of my 7 warranty claims thus far (7 months, 5,000...
