Re: 2017 Keyless issue

When I had to bike in for the brake recall, I asked about the keyless issues. The mechanics said KTM were aware of the issue but no fix. They did mention that KTM did if you have mobile phone, make sure it's not same side of your body to where the key fob is. Since making sure of this I haven't had ...

Re: Brembo recall

My bike is with team Moto Virginia getting the brake recall done today.
I never received a letter, but just rang them instead.

Re: painting the front fender

Thanks 'Striff'! I've learned somehing new today as well :-) I think I better give the plastics to a professional painter. Re: Wanting to buy new rotors.. Power Parts versus Galfers?

I have the power parts rotors on my bike.
But they came with it, so can't compare to how they are over stock.

Re: painting the front fender

Release agent is what they use in the manufacturing process. Its what prevents the mould sticking to the object it is making. Residue is left, warm soapy water does remove this, you can of course by a named product instead. Plastic primer, you don't need a 2pac plastic primer (if they make such a th...

Super Duke 1290 R Fuel Guage

Hi All, Just checking if this is normal behaviour, as I only noticed this after having the fuel pump recall, KTM Alarm and map fix for the Akro exhaust. No matter what amount of fuel I have in the tank, the fuel gauge always reads full, for probably 1/2 - 1km. After that it seems to correct itself, ...

Re: painting the front fender

Hi guys, sorry didn't read all of this but I'm a spray painter by trade. If painting plastics, that aren't already painted, you need to remove the release agent first then use a plastic primer. Warm soapy water with a scotchbrite is good for this, then rinse off. Plastic primer you can get in a spra...

I rang my dealership in Brisbane, Australia. They are aware of the recall and have put me in the list.
Waiting for the kits to arrive.

Re: Second motorcycle to contrast the 1290?

I had two bikes, my other was DRZ 400 with a lot done, was a 470 in the end.
I had this with my Speed Triple.

Now I have a 1290 SDR, if I could have another bike, it would be either an Indian Scout / Scout bobber or a dirt / enduro/ trail bike.

Here's a copy of the receipt.

Unfortunately it doesn't say fuel pump recall, but "Factory Recalls"

Hope this helps.

Re: My 2017 SDR Build

Hey Striff! Do you have a copy of your receipt and does it mention the fuel pump recall? I’d love to reference something at my dealership because they’re daft as shit. Thanks! All done. I have a 2017 SD R.
The brakes are great.
I got ASV shorty levers so can only use two fingers at the most, more then enough.

I would get your brakes checked out.

Re: 2017 Keyless issue

Interesting. Got my bike back from fuel pump recall and issue error code, when they diagnosed it previously. Turned out issue when loading Akrapovic map, and needed KTM's assistance. but since getting it back, no issues with the Keyless start.. I do have the fuel gage giving empty reading until I ri...

Re: Fuel range displayed

I'm in Australia, so km's is what I use. But notice on my SDR after film up it is very optimistic on distance to empty. Why don't you change your settings to km's then check your distance to empty to see if that changes from previous. That should then tell you if it's stuck on km's to empty or not....
